Progress Reports: Progress reports have now been published in Aspen. Teachers are looking forward to meeting with you next week during conferences to look more closely at your student's progress and goals as we enter the final months of the school year.
PSO Donuts & Discussion: Please join us for our next in person PSO meeting on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 9:30 in the Deer Hill cafeteria! We will be sharing what's to come this spring!! If you are looking for an opportunity to volunteer in any way please come join us or reach out to Laura Larner (LauraL@cohassetpso.org) or Bits Sullivan (ElizabethS@cohassetpso.org)! Principal Alex Sullivan will also join us to talk about homework at Deer Hill and is looking for any feedback or comments about homework. We hope to see you there and will enjoy a Donut King Donut with us! RSVP by completing this brief form.
Attention Grade 5 Families: Recently you received a letter from the PSO with important information about the Grade 5 Send Off and what is needed to complete the annual Memory Book. Here is a link to that letter. Please do what you can to upload your photos as soon as possible because students are beginning this work in technology class. Thank you so much for your help so that every 5th grader has what they need to make their memory book page!
Follow CPS on Facebook: Cohasset Public Schools has a new Facebook page. Thanks for following us and stay tuned for more content as we get up and running.
Deer Hill Happenings
Shamrock & Read: We had a great day celebrating St. Patrick's Day and a love of reading! Many thanks to the PSO who sponsored raffle prizes which were announced throughout the day. One class at each grade level won a "class prize" -- congratulations to Mrs. Johnston's class who won time with Hugo, Ms. Kelliher's class who won a bring a stuffie to school day, and Mrs. Frasier's class who won an extra PLAY block. Additionally, one student at each grade level won a coupon to be redeemed for a free book at Buttonwood -- congratulations to Owen Crowell, Charlie Armstrong, and Maren Phifer!
All Schools Chorus & Band Concerts: Families were treated to two wonderful concerts this week. Deer Hill chorus and band students joined students from Cohasset Middle and High schools where they demonstrated incredible talent across the span of all grades. Bravo to not only the students but also Mrs. Kristen Lewis, Deer Hill's chorus teacher, and Mr. John DeWaal, our leader of the Deer Hill band.
Willcutt Commons: Throughout the year each 4th grade class pays a visit to the seniors at Willcutt Commons. This week, Ms. Parrel's class entertained them with a talent show during their Monday coffee hour!
Upgraded Composting System: This week students from Mrs. DeSalvo's class helped Bruce Frost from Holly Hill build an upgraded compost system in our Deer Hill courtyard. Students are encouraged to sort their lunch trash to support composting. Mrs. DeSalvo's class are leaders in depositing their compost, and it was great to have their help!

CPS Purposeful Play & Risk Challenge
Each month Superintendent Shannon includes a suggestion for purposeful play and developmentally appropriate risk. Here is our March challenge!
Keeping up with our Anxious Generation purposeful play and responsible risk taking challenges, I am inviting you to join in on our March activities. This month, our challenges are:
Purposeful Play Challenge
March is here! Daylight lasts longer, I can hear the peepers, and the plants are popping up. Take advantage of the warmer weather and sunshine and take a family walk on the beach! While you're there, skip some rocks, build a sandcastle, or have a catch.
Responsible Risk Taking Challenge
This month is all about getting outside in the warmer weather and sunshine. Find a spot to take a hike. There are so many great spots locally -Turkey Hill, Wheelwright, Great Esker Park, Blue Hills, Borderland State Park. Choose a hike that is at the right challenge level for you and your child and let them try something new ~ climb a new rock, climb a tree, explore a new pay.
