Conroe High School Tiger Tracks
October 5, 2024
Message from Dr. Smith and Mr. Meyer
Hello Conroe Tiger Families,
It is hard to believe that this upcoming week is our last week of the 1st Nine-Weeks of school! Thank you to everyone who participated in our Homecoming Week of Fun! Many of our student showed their true Tiger Pride and we enjoyed every minute of it!!! Please be sure to see the information below about the events and dress-up days we have planned for the week! We would like to remind you that there is no school for students on Friday, October 11th and Monday, October 14th. Here are a few updates and reminders:
UIL ELIGIBILITY
This Thursday will mark the end of the 1st Nine Weeks and students who are failing at the end of the 1st Nine Weeks will become ineligible. Students who were failing at the end of the six week grading period, but are now passing will gain eligibility. Students failing certain advanced courses may petition the building principals for a waiver. Students can only waive 2 courses per grading period and must have a grade of 60 or higher in the courses being waived.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Our attendance was still down last week. It is important that your child is in class each day unless they are ill. In the event your child does miss school, please be sure to email our attendance office. Also, please remind your child to get with their teacher about any work they missed. We would also like to remind you that your child will be at risk of losing credit due to attendance.

CHS9 Attendance: CHS9Attendance@conroeisd.net
CONROE ISD COLLEGE NIGHT
The Conroe ISD College Night will be October 7th from 6:00-8:00pm at Lone Star Convention Center. This is an event for students to come and gather information from colleges they may be interested in attending after high school. Over 150 colleges will be in attendance. We highly recommend all seniors who don’t have a post-high school plan to attend college night! Parents of Juniors, if your child needs to narrow their college visit list down for Summer 2025, you may want to attend as well!

TARDY SWEEPS
We are continuing to do tardy sweeps at Conroe High School. We have put measures in place to ensure students arrive to their classes on time. Outside of car rider traffic and late buses, there is no reason any student should be tardy. Please be sure to read the letter below for more information.
FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH
If you need to apply for the free and reduced lunch program please visit the Conroe ISD Child Nutrition website. If you are in need of information regarding the program please see the attached flyers for information. Students who were on free or reduced lunch year and have not filled out an application and requalified have been dropped.
SPIRIT DAYS
Hispanic Heritage Month dress up will be October 7th - 10th.
STUDENT IDs
As a reminder all students must wear their ID at all times: visible, chest level and above, on their person (not attached to a backpack or held in their hands). Students who do not have their ID will be required to purchase a temporary ID for $1. This charge will be applied to their school-cash account. You can see if your student has had to purchase any temporary IDs or any other fees by checking their school-cash account. If your student needs a new student ID, they need to go to their Assistant Principal's office so they can request a new ID.

Important Information For Freshmen
CHS9 Car Riders:
If you bring your student to school by vehicle, then please remember that the traffic loop in front of the Ninth Grade Campus contains two lanes. Vehicles can utilize the inside lane (left lane) to help alleviate traffic. When our duty personnel see students getting out of the vehicle from the left lane, we will stop traffic in the right lane allowing your student to cross safely. Please remind your student to check traffic before getting out of the vehicle. Parents, please continue to drive slowly and safely in the student drop-off area. We appreciate your attention to safety and patience every day.
