Patriot Press - December Edition
Liberty Lake Elementary - 11.25.24
Letter From Mrs. Tesky
Dear Liberty Lake Families,
Thank you to all the parents and guardians who attended parent-teacher conferences. Your involvement and dedication to your child’s education are invaluable. We deeply value the opportunity to collaborate with you, celebrate your child’s strengths, and set meaningful goals to ensure their success this school year. These conversations help us build a stronger partnership and better support each student’s unique journey toward academic growth and personal achievement.
We’re also thrilled about the exciting opportunities for our students to give back to the community this holiday season! On Friday, December 6th, we will be hosting our Generation Alive food packaging day. This meaningful event allows our students to come together to make a tangible difference in the lives of others, fostering a spirit of service and teamwork. Additionally, our Tree of Sharing project provides an opportunity to spread kindness and generosity by collecting gifts for local families in need.
Thank you for helping us teach our students the value of giving and community care.
We appreciate your continued support and look forward to partnering with you in these impactful initiatives!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Tesky
Principal, Liberty Lake Elementary
Thank you PTSA and VRL
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible PTSA for providing a delicious dinner for our teachers during the late night conferences. Your thoughtfulness and generosity are deeply appreciated. A special thank you also goes out to our amazing community partner, Valley Real Life, for keeping us energized with snacks throughout the entire week. We are truly blessed to be supported and spoiled by such a caring and generous community. Thank you for making our teachers feel valued and appreciated!
Generation Alive
Thank you to all the families who participated in our Generation Alive fundraiser! Together, we raised over $5,500 and provided over 22,000 healthy meals! Your generosity and support make a real difference for those in our community facing food insecurity. Together, we’ve shown the power of kindness and unity, helping to provide hope and nourishment to those who need it most. We truly appreciate your compassion and commitment! We also wanted to give a big thank you to our sponsor, Liberty Lake Smile Source, for helping to make this event happen. All students will get the chance to package meals on Friday, December 6th during the school day during our food packing event!
Liberty Lake Tree of Sharing
As the holiday season approaches, we are thrilled to announce the return of our Tree of Sharing—a cherished tradition at Liberty Lake Elementary that brings our community together in support of families in need. The Tree of Sharing is a beautiful reminder of the compassion and generosity that define our school family. Beginning Thursday, November 20th, you’ll find a festive tree displayed at the front entrance of our school, adorned with tags representing thoughtful gifts of “experiences” and gift cards to local grocery stores to brighten the season for those in need.
We invite you to participate by selecting a tag from the tree and returning the corresponding item or gift card to the front office by Friday, December 13th. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, has the power to spread joy, hope, and warmth to our students and their families. Together, let’s make this holiday season truly magical—a time of shared joy, kindness, and community unity. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us make a difference!
Strive for 5! Update
WOW! So many of our Patriots have done an incredible job meeting our attendance challenge this year! We’ve already celebrated our October recipients (missing no more than 2 days), as well as our Trimester 1 students (missing 5 or fewer days since the start of school). Thank you for supporting this important initiative and for your efforts in ensuring your Patriot attends school every day! Keep up the great work!
The Importance of Regular School Attendance
- Builds a strong foundation for academic success.
- Keeps students on track with their peers.
- Develops important life skills like responsibility and time management.
- Encourages engagement in lessons, discussions, and hands-on activities.
- Promotes social growth and connection with classmates and teachers.
We will continue this initiative when we return from Thanksgiving Break by celebrating our November award winners and acknowledge our December recipients before moving into Winter Break.
We wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU to our community partners who have committed to donating prizes, coupons, and candy for our students to have who meet the attendance goals!!
Those community partners are:
- Liberty Lake Safeway
- Liberty Lake McDonalds
- Liberty Lake, Barker, and Sullivan Starbucks
We truly and genuinely LOVE having your child as part of our Liberty Lake Elementary community! Their daily presence makes a positive and meaningful impact on our school, and we couldn’t imagine our community without them. Thank you for sharing them with us each day!

Drop-off Reminders
As we work to ensure a quick, smooth, and safe morning for all, we kindly ask for your cooperation in following our established drop-off procedures.
- Do not move school cones or delineators or drop students off at the playground gates, as this can cause traffic backups.
- Once you have entered our 2-lane Valet system, please stay in your lane and avoid merging into the outside lane to exit. Lane changes have resulted in near accidents involving students.
- Drop-off begins at 8:45 AM. If you need to leave promptly at that time, we recommend using the baseball parking lot. Students can safely walk to the playground from there.
Thank you for helping us ensure safe and efficient mornings for everyone!
December Holiday Parties
We’re excited to celebrate the holiday season with a fun-filled Winter Celebration on Friday, December 20th! It will be a joyful day for students and staff to come together and enjoy the festive spirit. To ensure a smooth and safe event, please remember that all volunteers—including parents stopping by—must be volunteer-approved in advance. Check in at the front office before heading to classrooms, where we will have pre-labeled name tags ready for parents whose attendance has been confirmed by your child’s teacher.
Students are welcome to join in on our spirit days throughout the week to add to the festive fun! Each day will have a different holiday theme, giving everyone the chance to dress up and show their school spirit. Whether it’s cozy pajamas, winter sweaters, or holiday colors, we’re excited to see the creativity and enthusiasm from our students. Thank you for helping us make this celebration week both enjoyable and safe for everyone!
We can’t wait to share in the joy of the season with our Liberty Lake families!
Light Up Liberty Lake
The Bite2Go program works with local organizations who "adopt" a school for the year. This adoption provides weekend food to families in need. Liberty Lake Elementary is fortunate to have the partnership of Legacy Church this school year. We are extrememly thankful for their generosity. However, not every school in our Eastside community has been adopted. Or there are some partners who desperately want to help, but are unable to cover the total monetary need for a building. Your participation in the Light Up Liberty Lake fundrasier and helping by spreading the word are key to making this initiative a success for all students and families in need within our community. The money raised will go directly to our Eastside schools. Let’s work together to light up Liberty Lake and brighten the lives of those in need!
