Thank you to those parents who have signed up to volunteer for the class winter parties. To keep things organized, running smoothly, and for safety reasons, our parties are not open to all parents. Only those who have signed up to volunteer through PTO will be allowed down to the classrooms. Thank you for understanding.

PTO December Highlights
It’s hard to believe that December is almost over and we’ve made it to the end of our first semester! Time flies when you’re having fun, and I’d like to think our Wilson Creek families and staff have had the most fun this month thanks to our PTO. Here’s a recap of all that they did in December:
- Winter parties were funded and executed thanks to PTO and all of YOU - our wonderful volunteers!
- The Science Force team ran some fun labs on Plants for 1st grade, and Weather for 2nd grade
- They partly funded the buses for 5th grade’s field trip to the Teaching Museum and 3rd grade’s trip to the Mercedez Stadium
- New hoodies AND a plush toy were designed. Is there anything our PTO can’t do?!
- Planning for STEM Day and a new Spring Dance - stay tuned!
- Catered a delicious Holiday Lunch from “Rising Roll” for all Wilson Creek staff
Becoming a PTO member ensures we can continue having all these wonderful events for our students, families, and staff. If you’d like to be a member, you can do so here: https://www.wilsoncreekpto.org/membership/
Volunteer of the Month: Yifei Huang
Yifei is on his second year at Wilson Creek with a first grader in Ms. Siegel’s class. He is always willing to volunteer his time at class parties, Science Force labs, and classroom activities. We truly appreciate his dedication to helping our students have the best school memories! Thank you, Yifei!
There's Still Time to Order before the Break!
Our Wilson The Wildcat Stuffed Animals have been incredibly popular!
Order online, and we’ll send them home with your child before the holiday break! We are doing our last round of distribution on Thursday, so please order today to ensure your kiddos get them in time.
We can also have them held at the front desk for you if you want to pick up and surprise your kiddo with it for the holidays

After School Programs for Spring Semester
Challenge Island
Challenge Island provides a screen-free, creative learning space for children to use critical thinking and problem solving skills to complete hands-on STEM challenges. Every week, students tackle a different standards-aligned challenge with their STEAMMates, using only a treasure chest of low-tech supplies and their boundless imaginations. Next semester, our challenges are inspired by the Shark Tank TV show, intertwining STEAM and entrepreneurship. From engineering theme parks to building lunar landers to conducting chemical experiments, there is a lot to learn as we create and pitch our STEAM businesses! More information at this link, and register at this link.
Challenge Island is held on Fridays, Jan 31-Apr 25: 2:30-3:30pm
