Bridger Creative Science News
November 8, 2024
Hello Bridger Creative Science School Families, What an inspiring week we’ve had at BCSS! Our first community gatherings were a wonderful way to come together and focus on our Core Value of the Month: Purpose. In our school community, purpose means acting in ways that reflect what we believe and value, setting goals, and working with heart to achieve them. Over the next few weeks, students and teachers will be celebrating one another’s purpose through Shout Outs, recognizing each other's dedication to these values. We hope to fill the big bulletin boards at the front of the school with Shout Outs that showcase our purpose in action! Parents and families, if you’d like to participate, we welcome you to stop by the office and fill out a Shout Out for any staff or student who’s showing purpose! This week, I also had the joy of seeing our students embracing creativity, curiosity, and care for the world around them. Whether they were building leaf piles as outdoor scientists, creating posters about the world they want to see, expressing gratitude, or developing algebraic reasoning by exploring shape patterns, they were actively engaging with the world in meaningful ways. It’s a privilege to watch them grow and learn together. Looking ahead, we’re excited about our upcoming conferences on November 25th and 26th. Conferences are an important opportunity for you to connect with your child’s teachers and learn more about their progress, strengths, and goals for growth. These conversations are a chance to strengthen the home-school partnership, which plays a big role in student success. To make the most of conferences, I encourage you to come with any questions you might have and share any insights about your child that can help us support their learning and well-being. Thank you for supporting our wonderful school community!

Arena Style Conferences – key points
Students are strongly encouraged to join families for conferences
There will be an individual line in the cafeteria for each teacher.
When others are waiting, please limit the conference to 10 minutes.
If you need more time or privacy you can schedule an individual meeting with specific teachers at a later date.
You do not need to see every teacher.
Plan ahead with what you want to ask, and who you want to speak with. For example, ask about homework, grades, tests, content, strengths, areas of concern, how can we help at home, missing work or anything else you want to know.
Conferences are not required if you do not have any specific concerns and are already well-acquainted with your student’s teachers. We are prioritizing students with CP & DP grades.
Please bring the Parent Mind Map to conferences
If your student comes to conferences with you, please have them bring their chromebook and planner
In addition, virtual online conferences will be available to schedule with individual teachers on a first come, first served basis. Virtual conferences will be available on both days at the following times:
Monday 8:00 am-4:45 pm Tuesday 6:30-8:00 pm
