Happy Sunday Grizzly Parents,
Our first full week of school was AHHHH-MAZZING! Grizzlies are already demonstrating a strong sense of PRIDE and they are making strong connections with learning expectations in all of their classes.
Parents, I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for your warm welcome and support. We were able to get into gear with a smooth transition to the start of the year because of you. Thank you for the positivity you brought the first week of school and your patience with our dismissal process.
It is evident that Klein Roots Run Deep at Greenwood Forest. I am grateful to have such an incredible school community and look forward to partnering with you as we take this journey together to ensure that our Grizzlies LEVEL UP this school year!

School Reminders
Tuesday Folders (Green & White with GFE Logo)
All students will bring home Tuesday folders starting this week:
- Left Side: Papers for parents/guardians to keep.
- Right Side: Papers need to be signed by parent/guardian, placed back inside of folder, and returned to teacher.
- Folders will be updated every Tuesday

Traffic Flow: Car Rider Drop Off & Pick Up
Car rider line-up begins at 3:10 PM. To improve our car rider traffic flow in the morning and afternoon, please follow the arrows on the map below.
If you're traveling North on Champions Forest or Misty Valley, turn right onto Spanish Oak Drive, make another right when you get to Greenwood Forest Drive, make your last right turn onto Pinewilde Drive which will take you in front of the school without being redirected to line-up behind car rider parents.
If you're traveling South on Champions Forest or Misty Valley, make a left turn onto Spanish Oak Drive, then make a right when you get to Greenwood Forest Drive, then make another right turn onto Pinewilde Drive this route will take you in front of the school without being redirected.

MAP & Kinder Testing
MAP: NWEA's MAP Growth Assessment is an assessment tool that effectively measures academic achievement and progress. It provides teachers with accurate, actionable evidence to help inform instructional strategies regardless of how far students are above or below grade level.
KINDER TX-KEA: Provides teachers with a comprehensive understanding of students’ learning, enabling them to design differentiated instruction to better meet students’ unique needs.
Attendance
If parents arrive after 8:10 AM, please park and walk students to front office to sign-in on the computer near the bright pink sign-in sheet. Parents, please ensure you have a visitor’s badge before entering the main hallways of the campus building. All parents must show their State ID (e.g., Drivers’ License) when entering a building.
Parent Lunch with Scholars
Parents are welcomed to join their scholars at a designated lunch table after Labor Day using schedule below:
- Tuesday: Kinder - 10:30 AM; 2nd Grade - 11:15 AM; 5th Grade - 12:10 PM
- Wednesday: 1st Grade - 10:55 AM; 3rd Grade - 11:35 AM; 4th Grade - 12:30 PM
Transportation Changes
All transportation changes must be submitted via phone call (832.484.5700) to GFE Front Office before 2:30 PM. Thanks!
Nurse Updates
Welcome our New Nurse: Mrs. Caroline Brown
- The clinic needs a 2-weeks notice if you are bringing snacks for your child’s class. Please email Nurse Brown if you have any questions.
- Please place extra clothes in student's bags in case of accidents or spilled food for students in Grade K-2.
- Parents must drop all medications off in the clinic due to paperwork that is required.

GFE's PTO is the best! Our parent/guardian volunteers work extremely hard to raise money and support every student and teacher. From classroom items, to helping beautify the campus, bringing in performers, providing lunch or readers, and much more, the PTO does it all.
We are grateful for the unwavering love and support from our PTO and encourage you to join this incredible group of volunteers!
