Greetings, STEAM Family:

We hope everyone has had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! This will be an eventful week at SDE. Please check out the information below to make sure you stay in the know, and plan your schedules accordingly!

Who are we?.... (You know the rest!)

SDE spirit t-shirts featuring this year's school-wide theme, "Saddle Up with PRIDE", are now on sale for students, staff, and parents! These shirts may be worn any day of the week and will definitely come in handy for grade level field trips and/or school-wide PRIDE celebrations. Each grade level's designated color is indicated on the order form. All youth sizes through Adult XL are $15. Additional costs for sizes 2XL & up.

Payment can be made by CASH ONLY. Please complete and return your child’s order form and payment to his/her homeroom teacher.

The LAST DAY to purchase a spirit t-shirt is TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd by 12:00 NOON - NO EXCEPTIONS. Prizes will be awarded to the HR and overall grade level with the highest percentage of sales!

Additional copies of the order form are available in the office.

Come meet and get a brief "status check" with your child's teacher(s). 1st Nine Weeks Progress Reports will also be distributed, so we look forward to seeing you there!

Students who have parents to attend will earn 10 PBIS Rewards Points!

The LAST DAY to RSVP for this event is Thursday, September 5th.

• ATTENDANCE MATTERS - Parents, please make sure your child maintains regular attendance and arrives to school in a timely manner. Students are tardy at 8:15 am. Five (5) tardies and/or early dismissals count as one (1) unexcused absence. Student attendance will be a part of criteria used to determine eligibility for school-wide celebrations. Remember, every minute really counts!

  
  
• Weekly grade level newsletters will be sent home each Monday, so please check your child's folder and/or book bag.
  
  
• All book bags must be CLEAR or MESH.
  
  
• The dress code will be enforced DAILY at SDE! Any "Dress Down" days will be communicated in advance. Repeated dress code violations will result in students becoming ineligible to participate in school-wide and/or classroom PRIDE celebrations and events! Please make sure your child adheres to the required dress code. Remember, the P in PRIDE stands for "Personal Responsibility".

Tuesday, September 17: Annual Title I Parent Meeting & Spaghetti Supper
Friday, September 20: Fall Picture Day (info will be sent home)

Monday, September 23: Local School Governance Team Training @ DHS - 6:00 pm
