Instrument/Equipment Turn-in
The instrument turn in process is complete when the instrument has been inspected by a director. If there is any damage to the instrument, beyond normal wear and tear, you'll be contacted over the summer with the cost of the repair.
If you'd like to keep your school owned equipment over the summer months, a new loan agreement must be turned in before the instrument is allowed to be taken home for the summer.
Band Room Summer Hours
From Mrs. Knowles
The Southview Band is a huge family. A family that is supportive to its members, it is functional and sometimes dysfunctional, it's unpredictable, it's made me laugh and cry, and every member's successes are priceless!
I have moved 7 times in my life, this move gives me a renewed sense of adventure and tugs at my heart with what I'm saying goodbye to. I know that those of us ending our chapters with SVB take great memories with us. I hope that the SVB family will welcome all of its new members with open arms, a big smile, and new eyes for the future. There are lyrics to a hymn that have stayed with me throughout my life: "Time and Change will surely show, how firm thy friendship." This line reminds me to remember the past and embrace the future.
In music, Alison Knowles
Ms. Emily Hage
My name is Miss Emily Hage and I am incredibly excited to join the Southview Band program next year as the director of bands! I come to you from Northview and Arbor Hills where I have been a band director for the last six years. I earned my undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University in 2013, and received my Master of Music Education degree from the University of Michigan in 2018. As a Sylvania graduate, I have always wanted to give back to the community that helped shape me into the person, musician and educator I am today. I truly look forward to the opportunity to continue the outstanding traditions of the Southview Band!
