A Team Effort!

Thanks to your generous contributions, Wildwood brought in over $85,000 in donations, the most money EVER raised in a Wildwood Jogathon! AND we received donations from all 50 states! The All-Student BBQ is on for Friday, May 9. On that day, all students will have the lunch choices of hamburger/cheeseburger on a standard bun, a veggie patty and gluten free bun, a PB&J sandwich, or a lunch brought from home.

THANK YOU again for helping us surpass our goal! We plan on using these funds to continue providing programming, activities, supplies, and events that elevate learning and enrich the overall school experience for ALL members of our Wildwood community!

Volunteers Needed for our 2024-25 SSC Team

The purpose of the School Site Council is to encourage improvements to meet the educational, personal, and career needs of ALL the students at the school through a collaborative decision-making process.

Currently, we have openings for the following positions on our 2025-26 SSC team:

Parent Members (2 openings)
District Advisory Council (DAC) Representatives (several openings)

The commitment is usually just 1-2 hours per month, but the impact is significant. Please connect with me to ask questions or express interest at klynch@conejousd.org. To learn more about School Site Council on your own and/or submit a self-nomination form, click HERE. We would like to have our 2025-2026 SSC team in place before our we leave for summer break.

Getting Ready for TK and Kindergarten

We invite all parents/guardians of students entering TK and Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year to a Parent Information Presentation led by Wildwood's TK and Kinder teachers and Principal Lynch. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet our team and hear what parents and guardians can start doing RIGHT NOW to improve your young learner's school readiness.

Job Opportunity for the 2024-2025 School Year

Wildwood is currently seeking candidates for the following part-time position for the 2024-2025 school year.

Dance / Music & Movement Specialist for TK-Kindergarten

3 hours/week

Wildwood would like to thank Leasa Shukiar for her dedicated and talented service to our TK and Kinder students as their dance instructor for the second half of this school year. We wish Leasa great joy as she moves on to other endeavors at the end of this school year. If you or someone you know are interested in this open position for the 2025-26 school year (no certification needed), please contact Mr. Lynch at klynch@conejousd.org.

School Spirit Day - May 30

Student Council has declared Friday, May 30 to be Aloha Day at Wildwood. We encourage all students to get in on the fun by wearing Hawaiian gear and joining in the Luau festivities during our lunchtime recesses which include dancing, limbo, and more.

Short Term Independent Study (STIS) Opportunities

California’s 2024-25 STIS policy allows families to request 1–15 days of independent study per school year for absences due to illness, family emergencies, or other short-term needs. Students will receive assignments to stay engaged with the curriculum while away.

To request STIS, contact the Wildwood office or visit our attendance page for more details. We’re committed to supporting student success through flexible learning options.

Sharky's Food Night

Our next Food Night is a 2 night fundraiser (Tuesday 5/13 and Wednesday 5/14) at Sharky's in the Janss Mall. On Tuesday night 5/13 from 5-7, Wildwood teachers will be there doing a GUAC SMASH where they will be smashing avocados and making guacamole for purchase! $1 from every guacamole sold will be donated back to Wildwood, in addition to the 20% of all sales that evening.

Come support our school, eat a delicious dinner, and see some Wildwood teachers in action!

From time to time, individuals or groups in the community will distribute information and advertisements to parents/guardians on the public sidewalks during school arrival or dismissal. This information is not affiliated or endorsed by Wildwood Elementary and CVUSD. Any approved communications (i.e. announcements, fliers) from Wildwood Elementary and CVUSD will be provided directly from the school to you via email, or given to your students to take home. If you ever are unsure whether or not materials are from Wildwood Elementary and CVUSD, please do not hesitate to contact the front office.

6th Grade Math Challenge Exam

Dear 5th Grade Parents,

Registration for the 6th Grade Math Challenge Exam is now available online. This exam is open to all current 5th-grade students who wish to test out of the 6th-grade math courses. Passing the exam will allow students to bypass the 6th-grade math curriculum and enroll in Math 7 Accelerated (Math 7A) as 6th graders.
