We had a great teacher appreciation week! Thank you to all those families who sent special messages to recognize the hard work our teachers do.
We had so much more to celebrate this week! Two teachers, Ms. Lucretia Burton and Ms. Miranda Lewis graduated from the GCPS Teachers As Leaders Program. Our Head Custodian, Ms. Raquel Chamberlain, received an award for school cleanliness. Finally, the Generalās Greenhouse ribbon-cutting event opened up an opportunity for families to visit our community project.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May š
Look at some upcoming events happening at our school!.
Week of May 13-17: Morning Show "Show and Tell" - Students and staff will be invited to the morning show to tell which country they are from and talk about some interesting facts about that country. They are welcome to bring cultural artifacts (clothing, toys, money, pictures, etc.) with them to show. : Parents please ask your students if they would like to participate and let the teacher know so Ms. Toro can add them to the schedule.
Taekwondo demonstration and Bollywood dancing videos will be posted for students to view in eClass and Parent Square.
Book read-alouds and Origami How-To videos will be posted for students to view. *I will provide a class set of Origami paper for each teacher. Students will be able to access the how-to videos from a computer website link or from a QR code on the wall in the front hallway and also through eClass and Parent Square.
Daily trivia questions on the morning show during the week of May 6-10.
Friday raffles for chopsticks- students will be randomly selected from each grade level to win. Winners will be announced Friday mornings. (May 3, May 10, and May 17)
An informative PowerPoint presentation will scroll on TV.
Remind students to check the front hallway for trivia question answers that are hidden there. Art displays from Mrs. Jamieson's class will also be hung in the hallway.

āEngage, Equip, Empowerā Series: Preventing the Summer Slide Videos
We are excited to announce that the Office of Family Engagement in the Department of Federal Programs, in collaboration with the Directors of Teaching and Learning, is providing videos and handouts for all GCPS families in elementary schools to help prevent the summer slide.
The ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies Directors recorded instructional videos highlighting resources and activities for families to support their children at home over the summer. The videos are posted in the GCPS "Engage Equip Empower" series website.

Early Learning Opportunities for Children Birth to 5
If your child does not meet the kindergarten age requirement your child can be a part of our Shiloh's Play 2 Learn program that is offered for children birth to 5 years old. The class meets every Wednesday from 9:00-10:30. Click the link below to learn more about the Play 2 Learn program or call the school office.

Shiloh has a YouTube channel and our students are posting learning videos. Check it out! Our third grade students actually became the explorers they studied and did interviews. Cool!

You can know if assignments are due, absences have been recorded, and even what class your student is in at the present moment. General Information
School Hours 7:45-2:45 - Instruction starts at 8:15
Breakfast Ends at 8:15
Car Rider drop off ends at 8:10
Students arriving after 8:10, parent must bring student into the building to check in.
Dismissal begins at 2:45. Car Riders dismiss at side of the building from 2:45-3:10 PM.
After 3:10, you must come to the front lobby to pick up your child.
Bookbags
Please make sure your children come to school each day with a book bag that has their
transportation tag, this guarantees a safe and secure travel home. If tag is missing, please
contact the school.
