Principal's Message
Dear Families,
As we wrap up October, I want to celebrate some wonderful moments from our school community!
Last Friday, we held our PBIS assembly. I am so proud of our kindergarteners! They showcased their hard work and enthusiasm by singing a flawless “Five Little Pumpkins!” A special shout out to Mrs. Ward’s kindergarten class on winning the first PBIS challenge of the year! Way to be leaders in the school!
Along with our kindergarteners, I also want to commend our 4th and 5th graders for their impressive performances last week at the fall concert. It was amazing to see their growth in music. They are a talented group of kids! This shows how well our kids work as a team!
Additionally, I want to highlight Unity Day, where we came together to stand against bullying and to promote kindness. I am incredibly proud of the way our students have been speaking up on issues that benefit everyone. Their voices matter, seeing them advocate for a safe and inclusive environment is heartwarming.
I’d like to express my gratitude for the recent Parent-Teacher Conferences. Witnessing such collaboration between our amazing staff and dedicated parents is encouraging. Your involvement and support make a significant difference in our students' success. We appreciate all you do.
GO POLECATS!
For the first time in 50 years, our PHS Northmen Football team has gone undefeated!!! Let's cheer them on as they continue their season against Bay City John Glenn on Friday, November 1 at 7 pm for game 1 of Districts.
Please note that the Orange Season Passes and School Staff Passes ARE NOT accepted for this game due to MHSAA regulations. Entrance price will be $7 per person and can be purchased with cash at the gate or online at https://gofan.co
We Value Your Input!
Mascot Survey
One of our Board goals for the 24-25 school year is to explore the creation of a new Northmen mascot. We have partnered with Jostens, who publishes our high school yearbook, to help us with this process. Their first step is to seek stakeholder input on the traits of a Northmen. We are asking for your help by completing the 6 survey items below. The survey will be open through Monday, November 11th.
Jostens has a great deal of experience in this area and we are looking forward to working with them. Once they compile the survey results, their next step will be to create several designs. Our goal is to have a new Petoskey Northmen mascot by the end of the school year.

Thank you!
