®️March SEL Trait - Coping Skills®️
Good afternoon Riverton families!
As we continue to celebrate Women's History Month I wanted to highlight a few notable woman of Riverton. The first person I read about was Ms. Helen Lippincott. Several facts I learned about Ms. Lippincott in the Images of America, Riverton book include her role as a charter member of the Porch Club, treasurer of the New Jersey Women's Suffrage Association and her roles as a delegate, life member, and member of the executive committee of the National Women's Suffrage Association. Did you know? Ms. Lippincott was also a delegate to the Congress of International Women's Suffrage Alliance in Geneva in 1920, over one hundred years ago!
As I continue to learn more about our community I found it interesting that Riverton had four World War I women nurses. Their names were Helen "Elsie" Biddle, Edith Coale, Amanda Faunce, and Edith Holvick. Ms. Faunce and Ms. Biddle served in France!
Thank you to the Historical Society of Riverton for their donation of the Images of America, Riverton book. The image at the right is Helen Lippincott and it is credited to the Images of America book.
Have a wonderful week with your family,
Mr. Zagorski

Riverton School News & Updates
SEEK Students Mission to Mars
Shout out to Mr. Klokis, Ms. Allen and our middle school SEEK students! This year's mission is relevant because NASA is currently partnering with corporations to explore and build a base on the moon for mining and planetary exploration purposes. Students were able to tie in current events with their NASA based curriculum and training for their mission. The SEEK curriculum covered a variety of STEM related lessons and activities ranging from chemistry, medicine, robotics, physics, and engineering to prepare students for their simulation challenge at the center. The Buehler Challenger & Science Center was founded by the families of the astronauts who died in the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster. Their mission is to inspire students, educators and the community in the pursuit of Scientific education. We are so proud of our SEEK students' success. Along with completing their lunar simulation challenge, they also competed in a parachute design challenge (think Mars rover landing). Three of our teams successfully designed and engineered a parachute and container landing their "egg rover" without a crack.
Riverton Students Shine in Burlington County Teen Arts
Shout out to Mrs. Devonshire and our Riverton School middle school students who showcased their artwork at the Burlington County Teen Arts Festival. The 2024 Burlington County Teen Arts Festival was held at RCBC. Shout to the Riverton Porch Club
Thank you to the Riverton Porch Club for hosting our students during Read Across America Week. Volunteers at the Porch Club spent the morning reading, talking and creating bookmarks with our students. As I walked around I observed a ton of smiles by all! Shout out to Mrs. Elwell for collaborating with Ms. Brown from the Porch Club to create this awesome event for our students.
Congratulations Kate Austin! Burlington County 8th Grade Dialogue
