Wellbeing & Flourishing Forever
A Mental Health in Schools Pilot Project - October 2024
Gearing Up for Stronger Relationships, Positive Communication & Problem-Solving Strategies!
The Wellbeing and Flourishing Forever Mental Health Pilot Project team has kicked off the year by hosting online evening workshops for parents, extended family, staff and members of the community. Aaron Block led a session on Gratitude and Being Grateful, while Jesse Henton facilitated a session on how parents can help prepare their child for a new grade.
We encourage participants to join Aaron the second Thursday every month for an interactive conversation on topics that are relevant to today's parents. Jesse is pleased to offer practical strategies to assist parents with supporting their children the third Tuesday each month.
During the lunch break at the Primary Campus, Jesse Henton also currently runs two sections of drama club, a book club, a writing club and co-runs a bi-weekly research club with Dr. Paul Wozny.
Gratitude for Kids - How to Develop the Attitude of Gratitude
The Mental Health Center Kids (October 2023) shares 9 simple activities that will help your child develop a deeper understanding of their feelings of gratitude, appreciation, being thankful and grateful. You can watch this video with your child and try out a few of the engaging activities to share feelings of gratitude! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KcXHO4v7F0)
A study by Harvard Health Publishing (Aug. 14, 2021) finds that gratitude is strongly associated with greater happiness, more positive emotions, improved health and helps build strong relationships. https://bit.ly/3N4PNjE
