Principal Senethavilay's Update

New Kindergarten Teacher

As you know, Mrs. Bauer has resigned from her position with West Ada. I know this was a tough decision for her, as she worried about each of your children. Although we are sad to see her leave, we also want the best for her and her family.

I have worked hard to secure a very talented and compassionate kindergarten teacher, Dr. Mandy White, who is ready to jump in, meet your children, and make the transition as easy as possible. We will welcome Dr. White on Monday, where she will be given time to work with Mrs. Bauer to learn the routines of the school, spend time with your students, and collaborate with the kindergarten team. She will take over the classroom entirely on October 9. Dr. White will hold parent/teacher conferences to discuss the benchmark assessments and to meet each family.

If you have questions, please reach out. Again, this is not an easy change, but the team is ready to support your students and Dr. White as she joins us.

Meet Dr. Mandy White

Hello, my name is Dr. Mandy White. My background has been in elementary education, working with students from preschool through eighth grade, with a minor in Special Education. Over the years, I worked in the Child Development Labs at Utah State University, specializing in early elementary education. I have worked in two states and four school districts as a teacher, principal, and central office administrator. I coordinated the Tuition Kindergarten classrooms in the West Ada School District for seventeen years. This past year, I had the opportunity to substitute in kindergarten classrooms and learn from the most amazing teachers. Kindergarten is that special age when the children love learning and grow so much. I am excited to work with the kindergarten students at Pleasant View Elementary and collaborate with the wonderful staff members.
