National Hispanic Heritage Month honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans as we celebrate heritage rooted in all Latin American countries.

It is not too late to join Chorus! Chorus is for any 4th and 5th grade students who want to practice singing different songs than we do in normal music class and perform for events like Winter Wonderland, International night, and others. We meet before school every Thursday morning, from 7:15-8:00. Students must have transportation that allows them to arrive by 7:15am to be in chorus. There is a registration fee of $16.00, which includes this year's chorus shirt, any snacks for after school rehearsals, and also goes towards any music purchased for performance. Registration is done through MyPayments Plus and will open on Friday, September 20. The first chorus practice will be Thursday, September 5. All students must register before attending the morning practices.

The Beanstack “Fall Into Reading” Challenge begins in September! This year, students meeting the monthly challenge will be rewarded with a PBIS reading brag tag! If you have any questions or need more support, contact Jennifer.Alden@gcpsk12.org.

The Woodward Mill Readers Rally Club will kick off on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 7:15 AM in the media center! All student applications must be returned by Monday, Sept. 16 in order to be a part of the club.

Refer to the Readers Rally link on the media program section of our school website for the meeting dates and reading list. We look forward to building a team of readers to compete at the Readers Rally event in February 2025.

We hope to see our students daily! Regular attendance is crucial for their success.

If your child is out sick:

• Please provide an excuse note or a doctor’s note to the teacher within 5 days of your child’s return to school.

Planned Absences:

• Communicate with your child’s teacher if you know they will be absent.
