Varsity Softball

On Thursday, May 2nd, the Varsity Softball team played against Waterbrook Christian at home. They made a lot of progress as a team this week, scoring 10 runs! They also had 16 hits! Madison Maday leads the team with 3 hits. This week, the Cardinals will play Peck at home on May 9th. Good Luck Lady Cardinals!
Varsity Track
Last week, the Varsity Track team competed at Dryden for the quad and the Cardinal Classic Invitational. At the quad, both the girls and boys team took first! For the boys, Matthew Hickmott ran 12.3 in the 100 meter dash, Gabriel Carvalho ran 25.5 in the 200 meter dash, Dylan Lasher ran 1:00 in the 400 meter dash, Mathew Livingston ran 3:31 in the 800 meter dash, Logan Romain ran 5:45 in the 1600 meter run, Michael Hickmott threw 104'7" in discus, and Brenden Peter jumped 5'0 in High jump.
For the girls during the quad, Mckinley Gammon ran 15.4 in the 100 meter dash, Caila Fitchett ran 28.1 in the 200 meter dash, Keira Miller ran 1:13 in the 400 meter dash, Olivia Reynolds ran 2:24 in the 800 meter dash, breaking the school record, Audrey Napolitano ran 6:43 in the 1600 meter run, Lily Finnigan ran 14:00 in the 3200 meter run, Ava DeVlaminck threw 95'9" in discus, Olivia Zellers jumped 4'2" in High jump, and Mckinley Gammon jumped 9'0" in long jump.
For the Cardinal Classic, there were 11 teams for girls and 10 teams for the boys. The girls took third place and the boys took ninth place. For the boys, the most outstanding performances go to Gabriel Carvalho for running 57.97 in the 400 meter dash, Aiden Fitchett running 4:42 in the 1600 meter run, earning him a school record, Brenden Peter running 49.14 in the 300 meter hurdles and close behind in Matthew Hickmott who ran 49.41 in the 300 meter hurdles, and Nick Abromaitis jumping 13'3" in long jump. Great job everyone!
For the girls, Olivia Reynolds ran 26.77 in the 200 meter dash and 59.83 in the 400 meter dash, Ivy Brown ran 3:00 in the 800 meter dash, Cara Prusakiewicz 5:55 in the 1600 meter run and 12.57 in the 3200 meter run, Sophia Peter ran 48.43 in the 300 meter hurdles, and Ava DeVlaminck threw 29'01" in shot put and 92'7.75" in discus.
Varsity Soccer

On Wednesday, May 1st, the Imlay City/Dryden Varsity Girls Soccer team played at home against Armada High School. Imlay City/ Dryden lost the game to Armada, 2-0.
Great job girls! The next Imlay City/Dryden Varsity Girls Soccer game will be against Yale High School on Monday, May 6th at Imlay City’s Soccer field, 5:00pm. Good luck!
Junior High Track

On April 22, 2024, the Junior High Track Team raced in Peck. The girls placed second with 128 points. The boys placed first with 136. Some highlights of the meet for girls were: Bella Blatt ran a PR in the 70 meter with a time of 10.32, which got her 1st place; Maddie Gammon, Aubrey Joseph, and Hailee Soule all ran the 100 meters. Maddie ran 15.25, Aubrey ran 20.95, and Hailee ran 19.77; Willow DuBois, Lillian Martin, and Elaina Yatros ran the 70 meter. Elaina ran 12.51, Lillian ran 13.75, and Willow ran 13.99; Elayna Hadley ran the 200 meters in 47.95.;Ellie Fitchett ran the 400 meters in 1:27; Claire Wright and Molly Wilkey both ran the 1 mile, Claire got 6:53 and Molly got 8:29; Ella Gustner ran the 2 miles in 14:02. For the relays, in the 4x1 Makayla Mater, Karley Phillips, Maddie Gammon, and Bella Blatt got first place with a time of 1:00. Elayna Handley, Lilyana Lasher, Makayla Mater, and Karley Phillips are all in the 4x2, which at Peck got 2nd place with a time of 2:24. Maddie Gammon, Makayla Mater, Claire Wright, and Ella Gustner ran the 4x4 in 5:23. Finally, Claire Wright, Ellie Fitchett, Ella Gustner, and Molly Wilkey ran the 4x8 in 12:51. For field events, Aubrey Joseph and Hailee Soule both did shot put. Aubrey got 16 feet and 7 inches, and Hailee got 16 feet and 6 inches. Ellie Fitchett did the long jump, she got a jump of 7 feet and 9 inches.
The Boys got first place with a score of 136 points. Ryan Peter, Kieran Schultz, Josiah Matson, and Josh Adams all ran the 70 meters. Ryan ran 10.92, Kieran ran 10.25, Josiah ran 10.20, and Josh ran 11.24. For the 100 meter, Jason Kaiser, Josiah Matson, Ryan Peter, and Kieran Schultz ran. Their times were 14.57 for Jason, 14.51 for Josiah, 15.31 for Ryan, and 14.05 for Kerian. Jakob Adams ran the 200 Hurdles but he had a good time - 36.91. Along with Jakob being by himself in a race, Jaycen Roberts also was only in 400 meters, but that did not stop him from getting a good time of 1:07. The long-distance runners also had great times. In the 800 meter, Levi Fitchett ran 2:37. Both Levi Fitchett and Jaycen Roberts ran the 1 mile and the 2 mile. For the 1 mile, Levi ran 5:17 and Jaycen ran 6:17. For the 2 mile, Levi ran 12:27 and Jaycen ran 13:54. The boys only had one relay team, the 4x100 meter. Josiah Matson, Josh Adams, Jakobs Adams, and Kieran Schultz had a great time of 57.98. Only Josh and Jakob Adams did shot put, Josh got 29 feet and 1 inch and Jakob got 11 feet and 9 inches.
On Apr 26, 2024 the Dryden Junior High Track team went to Algonac. The girls placed third and the boys got second. In the 70 meter, Bella Blatt ran 9.78, Aubrey Joseph ran 11.53 and Karley Phillips ran 13.72. For relays, the girls had a 4x1, 4x2, 4x4, and a 4x8. In the 4x1 are Makayla Mater, Karley Phillips, Maddie Gammon, Bella Blatt - they all ran a 1:00. Ellie Fitchett, Hailee Soule, Molly Wilkey, and Elaina Yatros they ran the 4x2 in 2:41. For the 4x4, Abby Tonkoshkur, Claire Wright, Maddie Gammon, and MaKayla Mater ran a time of 5:19. Finally, the 4x8 ran a 14:08 - Claire Wright, Makayla Mater, Ellie Fitchett, and Molly Wilkey. Also, in field events, in shot put Hailee Soule threw 15 feet and 6 inches. In the long jump, Aubrey Joseph jumped 5 feet and 9.5 inches, and Elaina Yatros jumped 8 feet 7.5 inches.
Jakob Adams ran in the 200 meter hurdles and he ran 33.32. Jason Kaiser did the 200 meter with a time of 31.34. In the 100 meter, Josiah Matson and Ryan Peter ran it, Josiah ran 13.13 and Ryan ran 15.41. Kieran Schultz was the only boy in the 70 meter, and he ran 9.40. For Levi Fitchett he ran the 1 mile in 5:25 and the 2 mile in 11:42. Jakob Adams, Jason Kaiser, and Josh Adams. Jakob did long jump and he jumped 12 feet and 9.5 inches. Jason did high jump and he jumped 4 feet and 2 inches. Finally for Josh he did shot put and he got 28 feet and 5 inches. Finally for relays the boys only had a 4x1 and a 4x2.
On May 1 of 2024 the Dryden Junior High Track Team went to the NCTL Quad meet in Mayville. Both the girls and the boys got third place out of 10. Some highlights from the girls are Bella Blatt, Lily Martin, Lilyana Lasher, and Willow DuBuis all ran the 70 meter. Bella ran 9.9, Lily ran 13.5, Lilyana ran 11.6, and Willow ran 13.8. Elaina Yatros and Maddie Gammon ran the 100 meter; Elaina ran 17.3 and Maddie ran 14.7. For the 200 meter Abby Tonkoshkur, Elayna Handley, and Willow Dubius. Abby ran 33.3, Elayna ran 40.9, and Willow ran 53.4. Ellie Fitchett is the only who ran the 400 meter, she ran 1:30. Claire Wright ran the 2 mile, and she PR with a time of 14:37. Also Elayna Handley also PR in the 55-meter Hurdles with a time of 13.5. For the relays, the 4x1, 4x4, and 4x8 all got first place. In the 4x1, Bella Blatt, Maddie Gammon, Karley Phillips, and Makayla Mater ran a time of 59.5. In the 4x2, Aubrey Joseph, Lilyana Lasher, Molly Wilkey, and Hailee Soule all ran a time of 2:48.0. The 4x4 had a time of 5:18.3 - Abby Tonkoshkur, Karley Phillips, Ella Gustner, and MaKayla Mater. Finally in the 4x8 with a time of 12:51. 7 - Claire Wright, Ella Gustner, Ellie Fitchett, and Molly Wilkey. In felid events, we only have shot put. Aubrey Joseph threw 21 feet and 2 inches, Lillian Martin threw 18 feet and 7 inches, and Lilyana Lasher threw 18 feet and 1 inch.
In the 55 Hurdles, Kieran Schultz ran 10.4. In the 70 meters, Josiah Matson and Jason Kaiser - Josiah ran 10.0 and Jason ran 10.0. In the 100 meters, Kieran Schultz ran 13.3. Jakob Adams did the 200 hurdles and he ran 33.8. Jaycen Roberts ran the 400 meters in 1:10.4. Levi Fitchett got a PR in the 800 - 2:24.1. In the 1 mile Levi Fitchett ran 5:25.4 and Jaycen Roberts ran 5:58.3. Finally in the 2 mile Levi Fitchett ran 12:26.8 and Jaycen Roberts ran 13:42.0. Ryan Peter, Josh Adams, Josiah Matson, and Kieran Schultz all ran the 4x1 - 1:00.7. Jason Kaiser had a jump of 11 feet and 10 inches, Jakob Adams jumped 14 feet and 1 inch (PR), and Ryan Peter jumped 10 feet and 4 inches. Josh Adams threw 26 feet and 3.5 inches.
