AFSA PreK-12 Cocoa, Cookies and a Craft Open House/Presentation Nights
Current and perspective families are invited to join us from 4-7 p.m. on November 14th at the high school and November 21st at the elementary school for a night of student presentations, cocoa, cookies and a craft!
Students are presenting a variety of projects that they have been working on this trimester. Friends and family make up the audience on these special nights, so make sure to attend as many presentations as you can! We will also have cocoa, cookies and a craft available for all! There is no charge for this event.
Help spread the word to friends, family and anyone you know who is interested in learning more about AFSA PreK-12! Along with attending presentations Interested families are also invited to take building tours, meet teachers, and learn more about what AFSA K-12 is all about!

AFSA PreK-12 Equal Exchange Fundraiser
AFSA's program relies on donations and fundraising to provide field trips and extra activities for students throughout the year. Our AFSA PreK-12 fundraiser with Equal Exchange has begun! We are selling coffee, tea, chocolate and more! Students should have brought home an envelope with the product sheet and order form along with an informational letter.
All orders and payments are due to the school office by November 21st. Customers can pay with cash and check (made out to AFSA). Customers can also pay online here. Attached to this Family Update you can find a product form with a QR code to help customers who want to pay online.
We have an anticipated product delivery date of December 16th or 17th. Students will need to pick up their product from school (no items will be allowed to be sent home on the bus) and deliver to their customers. Special prizes will be awarded to the top sellers at both the elementary and high school!
AFSA's Annual Report
The 2024 Annual Report has been approved by the board. If you are interested in taking a look at it please see the attachment or click here to find it on our website.
AFSA Presents - A Midsummer Night's Dream
Tickets are now on sale! AFSA High School presents, William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Shows are December 12th 7 p.m., December 13th 7 p.m. and December 14th 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.!
Tickets are $10 each. Performances will be at AFSA High School.
Tickets can be purchased online: click here!
Tickets can also be purchase in the front office at the high school with cash or check.

AFSA High School College and Career Fair
AFSA High Schoolers, grades 7-12, had the opportunity to meet with about 30 colleges, universities, businesses, trades, unions, military and more at today's College and Career Fair at the high school! Students asked a ton of questions and explored a ton of possibilities for their post secondary adventure. Thanks to the following for being a part of this event:

Minnesota Wood Turners
Daniel Larson, with the Minnesota Wood Turners, stopped by to share his amazing wood turning skills with Ms. Warner's Wood Working class at the high school. Daniel brought his lathe and went through the steps on how to turn a bowl from start to finish. It was incredible to watch!
A portion of the students from the class will be heading to a shop with Daniel next week to get hands on experience with wood turning. This unique connection from the classroom and into the field is just one special way AFSA brings experiential learning to our students.

AFSA PreK-12 Parent/Family Group - Family

Ways to Support AFSA PreK-12
We would like to extend a huge thank you to our families who have volunteered and made donations this school year. From volunteering at school events, chaperoning field trips to making donations for conference days we appreciate your support! - Pants (Gently used, sizes 4T to 14)
- New Underwear (Boys and Girls Sizes 4-8)
Please drop any items off at the elementary building.
AFSA High School:
- Lumber (Hard or soft wood) we are specifically looking for a wider stock Lumber
- Woodworking finish nails
- Plywood sheets (24X48) would be the preferred size
- Epoxy - tabletop

AFSA PreK-12 Picture Retake Day and Photo Ordering Information
Picture retake day is coming up November 7th at both the elementary and high school building.
Ordered Photo Package and Student is Having Retakes: If your student is having retakes and you ordered a photo package and received the photo package you will need to send the photos back to school on retake day. Your student will have their photo retaken and your new photo package will be delivered to school.
Student has Not Had Photo Taken Yet: If your student has not had their photo taken yet they can have it taken on retake day, November 7th. To order photo packages please use the attached photo ordering form. Your photo packages will be delivered to the school.
Still want to order pictures from Original Photo Day?: If you still would like to order photos from the original photo day you will need to use your personalized code. This can be found on the proof sheet you should have received. If you do not have your proof sheet no worries, to get your personalized code please call our Strawbridge representative, Kara McGinnis 763-219-2434.
AFSA PreK-12 Yearbooks - On Sale Now!
Elementary Yearbooks (PreK-6th):
Elementary Yearbooks are on sale now for $15. Yearbooks will be delivered at the end of the school year. If you would like to order an AFSA Elementary (PreK-6) yearbook online please click here. Cash and check payments can be made in the front office of the elementary school. Orders for the AFSA Elementary yearbook ends April 25th, 2025.
High School Yearbooks (7th-12th):
High School yearbooks are on sale now! Yearbooks are $35 if ordered by December 20, 2024 after that the cost goes up to $45 until March 8, 2025 and after that the cost goes up to $55 until the last day to order, April 29, 2025. Click here to order the HS yearbook online. The HS yearbooks are ordered through Entourage (not SchoolPay). You can also pay for high school yearbooks with cash or check in the front office at the high school.
AFSA High School Basketball Team Meeting
Informational Meeting for Basketball November 14th at AFSA Highschool. If your 7th-12th grade student is interested in playing in the 2024-2025 AFSA basketball season and/or you have any questions about it, please join us from 6:00-6:30. AFSA Class of 2025
AFSA Class of 2025 Graduation Information:
Graduation will be held the evening of Friday, June 6, 2025 at Bethel University in Arden Hills. Directions and details, including ticket information, will be sent home later in the school year.
Keepsake Gown/Cap/Tassel:
The cost for the keepsake gown/cap/tassel is $25.00 per student. Families can purchase the keepsake gown/cap/tassel online here or pay with cash/check in the front office. Last day to purchase is December 20, 2024.
Graduation Details:
Seniors need to submit their Diploma Name and sizes for shirt and Gown. Please click here to fill out important details for graduation. Last day to submit information is December 20, 2024.
Yearbook Submissions:
We want to ensure that the yearbook is special for our senior class. Therefore, we need the following from each senior by December 20th, 2024:
- Baby Picture
- Senior Picture
- Family message of congratulations or encouragement

IMPORTANT - Road Construction Information
Please be aware of a road construction project that will impact how our AFSA High School Team Members, students, and families reach the high school.
Edgerton and Centerville Road Construction UPDATE - Sign installation will begin the week of November 11.The intersection at Edgerton St and Centerville Rd (by Bigwood Brewery) will be closed for approximately 90 days (Open possibly October) with no through traffic for utility installation. Click here for more information from Ramsey County.
Rice Street, from Demar Ave. to Rustic Pl. Construction UPDATE - Paving on asphalt driveways and trails will begin on November 11, Signs and pavement markings will begin the week of November 18, Turf restoration will begin the week of November 18.
This does NOT impact the 694 Rice Street Exit. Click here for more information from Ramsey County.
Please use Rice Street (from 694) and proceed to Vadnais Blvd to access AFSA High School until further notice.
