Dear Families,

The 2024-2025 school year is scheduled to begin in two short weeks on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Our office and custodial staff have been working hard to prepare for the school year, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome students and families back to school.

We have two exciting events this month as we prepare for the new year. Books, Beats, and Eats: A Special North East Community Back to School Bash will take place at North East Elementary School from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024. There will be giveaways, inflatables, books, music, and food trucks with food available for purchase. Stop by Elk Neck Elementary School's table to enter a school spirit giveaway!

Our annual Back to School Social will take place at Elk Neck Elementary on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Students can meet their teachers and enjoy a popsicle from PTO. Families will also have the opportunity to join our PTO. This AMAZING group of parents works hard to provide fun, enriching events for our students throughout the year.

We can't wait to have students back in our school again! We look forward to a great year of learning together.

Dinner & Presentation: "Writing Conferences as a Path to Independent Writing" with Dr. Vicki McQuitty of the Maryland Writing Project

Tuesday, September 24th; 5-7:00pm @ Fairwinds Farm in North East

CCLC Members= $19, Non-Members= $30

Whether you teach or you parent, enjoy a pit beef dinner and learn how to hold results-oriented conversations about writing with kids, regardless of their age.
