Principal's Message
Hello CV Family,
It has been a very busy first week back! It seems that our students and staff are settling in nicely despite the TRAFFIC! We checked in with the construction team and they believe the work will be completed on Monday and the entrance to Quartz Street will be open on Tuesday. We have had some great input on possible solutions for our current construction traffic and for our regular pick up and drop off as well. Every suggestion was shared with our team, including our SRO, to determine the viability of the suggestion. Some of you have requested that we keep Quartz Street shut down as the feedback on one-way traffic was that it made the lot more manageable! We have done traffic flow studies and will do another one when construction is complete on Germann Road. Please be patient with each other and if you are comfortable with staggering your pick up and drop off times by a few minutes, the campus is open early and later which could help avoid the traffic!
Please note the revised guidelines on quarantine and isolation that are shared in the newsletter. It is important that students and staff that return earlier do abide by the terms of the early return. Please see the section below for more information.
Thank you for your continued support and please let us know how we can support you and your student!
Best regards,
Mr. Tyler Dumas

The Town of Gilbert’s contractor continues work on the Germann Road Improvements and needs to conduct work on the north side of Germann Road at Quartz Street.
In order to work on Roosevelt Water Conservation District (RWCD) facilities as part of the project, this work needs to be conducted during a scheduled dry-up, which is scheduled to begin December 20.
To accommodate this work and improvements to the north side of Germann Road at Quartz Street, the following restriction will be in place: Quartz Street will be CLOSED north of Germann Road to just south of the Campo Verde High School driveway beginning December 20 through January 11.

second semester
Campo students finished the first semester strong and we applaud our students for all the hard work they put in over the last eighteen weeks. We know many students and families have faced some unique challenges and circumstances and are so proud of you all for your perseverance and grit.
As we move into the new semester, all students should log into Infinite Campus
on Monday, January 3rd to review their second semester schedules. Please note any changes in teacher or room numbers, as we have had a few staffing changes.
Students are to follow their second semester schedules beginning Tuesday, January 4th. If there is a need for a schedule correction, due to one of the following reasons, please see your counselor on Tuesday during the hour that you have the issue.

ECAP Presentation
ECAP: Four Year Plan
All students have seen a presentation about ECAP (Education-Career Action Plan) in their Advisory class. We have attached a copy of the slide show here for your reference. Part of the presentation shows students how to enter their four-year plan for classes into the Infinite Campus Academic Planning feature. ALL students must have their plan entered by May of this school year. It is from this planner that all course requests will be filled. Again, please review these choices with your child to ensure that it is accurate and complete. These plans may be changed as students learn more about themselves and their plans for the future. The classes entered for sophomore year will be locked in February.
If you or your child have any questions, we encourage you to contact the assigned counselor. We are happy to help in this process.

Library Updates
*********************************
Library Information:
We are excited to welcome our students back with a stack of new books! These books all came out in 2021. Some continue a series and some are stand alones. We have various fiction genres, a few non fiction and two short story collections. We hope they fly off the table!
If a student is having problems with his/her Chromebook, the place to go is the library. We will put it in for repair and give the student a loaner Chromebook until the original is fixed.
Tip: If students are having trouble connecting to their home wifi, have them sign out of their Chromebook while they are on campus. Then have them sign in at home to connect to the home wifi. This should help make for a smoother transition onto a wifi network.
Digital Citizenship:
This week during Coyote Time, students and teachers discussed the difference between active use (contributing online via posts, comments, or other forms of communication and expression) and passive use (scrolling through online content without reacting to the content) in regards to digital/device usage. Students thought about times/activities that they use their device actively and passively. They were asked to find positive and negative digital habits and then they were asked to pick one negative digital habit they would like to improve. Take some time to see what your teen chose and consider your active and passive usage and a negative digital habit you’d like to improve upon this year too.
