2024-2025 The Year of Hope
October News
Dear Aura Families,
Our school year has gotten off to a fantastic start! The staff and students have taken a deep dive into learning. The Aura students have adjusted to the many routines and procedures, and the classrooms are buzzing with noise. The Student Congress members have been selected and they will soon take over the morning announcements. It will be great to hear our student voices daily! The Safety Patrol members have received their posts and are already making a HUGE impact at Aura. They are helping students get to and from school safely on the bus and assisting throughout the building in helping our students get to their classrooms.
We have so many upcoming events for our families to take part in. Your involvement in our school community is an integral piece to the entire educational experience for our students. This week, the school will celebrate the Week of Respect and will come together as an entire community on October 9th for our Family Night at the Book Fair, ETEA's Teddy Bear Sleepover, and Fire Prevention Night. These are just a few of the events that will bring our school community together.
Thank you for your partnership in your child's education. We cannot do it without you!
Looking forward to seeing you this week!

Mrs. Genzel's First Grade Class Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
Mrs. Genzel and her students discovered that the Mexican tradition of breaking pinatas during celebrations originated in China! All of our classes at Aura School have expanded their knowledge about Hispanic culture and traditions during Hispanic Heritage Month. Our grade levels have read about famous Hispanic Americans and researched the many contributions made by so many. We have enjoyed listening to facts about the Hispanic culture and have learned about famous Hispanic figures every morning during announcements.
First Annual Kindergarten-Senior Walk at Delsea
On Tuesday, October 15th, our Kindergarten students, along with Janvier's kindergarteners, will be participating in a special event at the Delsea Football Field during the school day. Ms. DePasquale, Delsea's High School Principal, is hosting a Kindergarten-Senior Walk during their Homecoming Week. Our Kindergarten students will meet the Delsea Seniors at midfield and will receive a special keepsake. We are looking forward to this becoming an annual tradition.
Student News!
Henry, a fourth grade student, at Aura approached me about adding a student section to my monthly newsletter. Of course, I was ALL in! Henry worked hard these last few weeks to interview students about the new slide that was installed on the Aura playground this summer.
A Student's Voice:
It was a rainy Wednesday so there was indoor recess. I had the time to interview kids about Aura’s new slide. The reason the school got this upgraded slide was because the slide that was loved by students as much as they loved this new one, unfortunately cracked. I asked some students what they thought about the new slide. One fourth grader said, “The slide gets a 100 out of a 100!” Another fourth grader stated, “The slide is amazing!” I just want to say, "Thank you for getting us this new slide!"
