Happy Mother's Day!!!
As we conclude another fantastic Teacher Appreciation Week, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest thanks on behalf of the entire faculty and staff here at Park Hall Elementary School. This past week has been nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the incredible efforts and generosity of our PTA and the supportive families within our school community. From the heartwarming messages and thoughtful gestures to the delicious treats and creative surprises, every expression of appreciation has touched our hearts in ways words cannot fully convey. On behalf of all the teachers and staff at PHES, I extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Thank you for your unwavering support, your overwhelming generosity, and your steadfast commitment to making Teacher Appreciation Week a truly memorable occasion.
To-go meals will be available for families this summer at Spring Ridge Middle School. This program offers free 5 day meal pick-up on Mondays starting June 10th. Parents must pre-register by filling out the form here, or by using the QR code on the image below.
Pre-K and Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2024-25 school year. See the attached flyer below for information on how to apply for Pre-k and please stop by the office to register for kindergarten. All students currently attending Park Hall Elementary Pre-k will automatically be enrolled in kindergarten. No action is required for those students.
St. Mary’s County Public Schools, in collaboration with Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership, is hosting a Surf the Mental Health & Wellness Wave: A Resource & Education Fair on May 18, 2024, from 10 AM-3 PM, at the James A. Forrest Career & Technology Center. Come interact with and gather information from over 35 Mental Health & Wellness vendors. There will be numerous guest speakers and presentations on several different mental health and wellness topics. Use the QR code in the health fair flyer to view the schedule of events. In addition, there will be food trucks, door prizes, and lots of fun! Please join us!! For families that do not have access to transportation, there will be free transportation to the Mental Health Fair. This Transportation Flyer provides information on bus routes. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
The portal for online orders for YEARBOOKS has closed. Don't worry, a few extras have been ordered and are available for $25.00 each by cash or check only. They are first come first serve and should arrive late May or first week in June.
Families may now make special placement requests for the next school year. This can be for a specific teacher (please list two), to separate your child from another student, (twins or a student they may have had issues with), or to put your child with another student. These requests are due by May 15th. Any request after May 15 will not be honored. Please email requests to Mr. DiRenzo, the principal at jddirenzo@smcps.org.
Parents or guardians of children receiving special education and related services were mailed the Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey from MSDE during the week of February 12, 2024. Parents are asked to complete the survey and return it in the postage-paid envelope by May 24, 2024. The Survey may also be completed online. Parent feedback will help guide efforts to improve special education and related services in SMCPS. To learn more, please visit https://www.mdparentsurvey.com.
SMCPS and SMC R&P have partnered to offer the new Summer Sports Academies. Campers will be instructed by area high school coaches. Camps are held Monday -Thursday. Click below for more information. Registration begins March 1st. Don't miss this opportunity.
