Open House
Arrival
Doors open at Bartley Elementary at 7:55. Please use the circle drive to drop off your student(s). The circle drive is shown on the map of the parking lot below. If you are wanting to wait in line for supervision, you will need to be in the lane closest to the sidewalk. (Marked with the red X). If you are needing to come through the circle drive and drop your student off so you can quickly leave, please use the lane closest to the road. (Marked with the green X) Also note on the Overview map, the red X. This is where you will need to park if you are planning on walking your student up to the front doors or waiting until the doors open. We will have 4th, 5th and their siblings drop off at the first set of doors and K-3rd students drop off at the second set of doors. (Included on the Overview Map)
Buses will dismiss students in the back parking lot. We will have a teacher in the parking lot to help supervise students being let off the bus.

Car Lanes
Dismissal
Bartley begins dismissing car-riders and walkers at 3:20. Bus riders will go to their designated bus rooms.
4th -5th and sibling car riders will be outside the first set of doors (North)
Kindergarten-3rd Grade car riders will be outside the second set of doors (South)
If you are driving through the circle drive please stay in your car and we will bring your student to you. If you have a student that needs to be in a car seat we can assist with that or you can get out of your car to put your student safely in their car seat. If you would like to get out of your car, you can park in the parking lot and walk up to the doors and pick your student up.
A staff member outside will radio in the name of the student being picked up in the circle drive. Each parent will be given a hanging tag that they will keep in their car so our staff member can easily see who they are picking up. Please put your student's name on the tag.
The office will make an announcement for each bus that arrives at Bartley. When a student’s bus arrives they will walk down the hallway and walk out the back doors to meet Mrs. Fletcher and Mrs. Quick to walk to their bus.
Walkers will be dismissed by the office.
Please refer to the map below to view the procedure Bartley will be following for dismissal.

Bentley's Buddies
Bentley's Buddies
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to have Bentley back and on our Bartley Staff. Bentley is a Goldendoodle and has been through several weeks of training. Below, we have set out the benefits of therapy dogs, and also to address any concerns you may have.
What are the benefits of having a therapy dog in schools?
Studies have shown that the presence of companion animals can improve the well-being of children and lower anxiety levels, simply by making the environment happier and more enjoyable.
Cognitive- companionship with a dog stimulates memory, problem-solving and game playing.
Social- a dog provides a positive mutual topic for discussion, encourages responsibility, wellbeing, and focused interaction with others.
Emotional- school dogs improve self-esteem, acceptance from others and lifts mood, often provoking laughter and fun. Dogs can also teach compassion and respect for other living things.
Physical- interaction with a furry friend reduces blood pressure, provides tactile stimulation, assists with pain management, gives motivation to move, walk and stimulates the senses.
Concerns:
It is understandable that some of you may be concerned about possible allergic reactions to a school dog. However, Bentley has been and will be subjected to the most thorough cleanliness and grooming regime. He will also only be allowed in situations with pupils who voluntarily wish to work with him. Bentley will also be located with his handler, Mrs. Eads or in the office. He will work with students in one on one or small group capacities, in specified areas, so the possible spread of dander is limited throughout the building. If you would like to request that your student does not work with Bentley, please contact the main office and let us know so that we can make the appropriate accommodations.
Here are some pictures of Bentley:
