“It is our vision as Daughters of Charity schools that our students become people of service who see the face of God in everyone, committed to living their Vincentian Catholic values.”
Advent Week 1 - "The first purple candle is the Candle of Hope. We wait for Jesus with Hope."
We have officially reached the busiest time of the year. As we navigate through our numerous tasks, I my hope is that we are able to take a moment to pause, reflect, and remember the true significance of this season. Our school community engages in various traditions during this season to emphasize its significance. Each morning, we place a unique ornament on our Jesse Tree, with each ornament representing a biblical story that culminates in the birth of Jesus Christ. This year, Mr. Gamboa, the father of Miss Gamboa, crafted a beautifully designed manger. Throughout the season, we will be adding symbols to this special display, serving as a meaningful reminder of our anticipation for the arrival of Jesus.
Next week, there will be no mass on Monday. Instead, we will hold a mass on Thursday, December 12, to honor the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We encourage students to dress as Our Lady or Juan Diego, and they may also wear traditional Mexican attire or their formal uniform. Additionally, students are invited to bring flowers to present to Our Lady during the mass. All are welcome to join us for mass at 8am. In addition, we welcome anyone seeking time for prayer and reflection to visit Our Lady of Guadalupe on our campus. You are invited to stop by anytime between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Please enter through the main office, and our staff will be happy to direct you to our special prayer area. We hope you are able to stop by.
Friendly reminder to kindly complete the Parent Survey if you have not had the opportunity to do so yet. We would like to extend our gratitude to those who have already participated. Your time and feedback are highly valued.
God Bless,
Mrs. Arvizu-Sotelo

Reminders
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ-
We continue to experience delays at carline, we need your help to keep each other and most importantly our students safe. Please share this information with anyone dropping off or picking up your children.
- Use the crosswalk
- Follow Carline Procedures- Do not cut in line or enter via Broadway when cars are lined up on Main Street.
- Exit the alley towards Broadway, this helps us speed up carline. Exit to the right slows everyone down, the streetlight on Main is too slow and cars waiting end up blocking the alley exit.
- If your child is in a car seat and requires assistance exiting your vehicle, we kindly ask that you park your car and accompany your child to the parent gate. This is particularly important during the busy times, such as around 7:20-7:40 AM, as many students are exiting their vehicles in the alley to avoid tardiness. Your cooperation will help us ensure the safety of our students and maintain an efficient car line. Thank you for your understanding and support.
As always, there is anything we can assist you with please feel free to reach out to your admin team Mrs. Rincon-Ponce (VP) a.ponce@motherofsorrowsla.org and Mrs. Arvizu-Sotelo (Principal) k.arvizu@motherofsorrowsla.org.
