HALLOWEEN PARTY NEWS
Halloween Costume Guidelines:
When sending in your child’s costume, we ask the following:
No blood and gore
No weapons · No masks – Too dangerous as we go up and down steps!
Students will not be permitted to change in the restroom – The costume should be able to be put on in the classroom.
Do not send your child to school in full make-up or dyed/sprayed hair as this is very distracting to learning prior to the party.
HALLOWEEN PARADE & PARTY NEWS:
This year the Halloween Parade and Party will take place on November 1.
Our parade will begin at 2:25 and will take place on our blacktop playground area. If you wish to come to the parade, please arrive by 2:20 and find a spot to sit or stand around the perimeter of the blacktop. You may wish to bring a lawn chair. After the parade, our students will re-enter the building for the class party. Onlookers are asked to vacate the property immediately following the parade.
In case of rain, the parade will be inside with no spectators.
PLEASE NOTE - As a district, we allow five fingerprinted adults in the classroom party. The room parents have notified you if you are one of the five. If you were not chosen for this party, know that we have an additional opportunity to help at a party in February. If you are coming to set up for the Halloween party, you may arrive and sign in with the PTA at 2:05pm. We will dismiss the volunteers to the classrooms at 2:15 pm.
FLU VACCINE CLINIC INFORMATION
Highland will be working alongside Akron Children's Hospital to provide a flu vaccine clinic here at school. This clinic will take place on November 20th during the school day. Any student attending Highland can participate. Parents must complete the attached forms and return them to school by November 6th. Only students with a form on file will be able to receive their vaccine.
FACILITIES UPDATE
DID YOU KNOW?
Each year we are approached by a number of charitable organizations who wish to provide holiday assistance to families in need. This assistance can take the form of food, clothing, and/or gift items.
Assistance may be available. If you would like to be contacted by one of these charitable organizations, please complete and submit this form.
Electronically submitting this form serves as permission to give your contact information to these local organizations. Each organization varies in the number of families they assist. Once we give them your information, they may contact you directly. We do not control the number or nature of these offers, so please understand that there is no guarantee that assistance can be offered to every family that replies.
Some of our organizations start their charitable work very early, so please complete this form as soon as possible to maximize the likelihood that we can match your request with a community resource.
