Dear Dolland Families,

As we step into February, we reflect on the progress our students have made and set goals for the months ahead. We recently completed our mid-year conferences, and with report cards coming out in March, now is the perfect time to ensure our students are putting forth their best effort to improve where needed.

We have also reached an exciting milestone—100 days of school! As we gear up for upcoming state assessments, we want to remind families that ELPAC and SBAC state testing begins in April. It is crucial that our English Learner (EL) students continue making gains. At our recent ELAC meeting, we shared our school's commitment to providing a dedicated language development block each day to strengthen students' language skills and vocabulary. Families can support this effort by encouraging students to speak in complete sentences and actively participate in discussions.

We invite you to join us for parent meetings and workshops, where we share strategies to support learning at home. Your involvement makes a difference!

February is a month of love and friendship, and we are grateful for the incredible community we have at Dolland. Thank you to our PTA and all our parents for your continued support—you truly help make our school shine! Let’s continue working together to finish the year strong.

Queridas familias de Dolland:

A medida que avanzamos en febrero, reflexionamos sobre el progreso que han logrado nuestros estudiantes y establecemos metas para los próximos meses. Recientemente, finalizamos nuestras conferencias de mitad de año y, con los boletines de calificaciones que se enviarán en marzo, ahora es el momento perfecto para asegurarnos de que nuestros estudiantes estén haciendo su mejor esfuerzo para mejorar donde sea necesario.

También hemos alcanzado un hito emocionante: ¡100 días de escuela! Mientras nos preparamos para las próximas evaluaciones estatales, queremos recordarles a las familias que las pruebas estatales ELPAC y SBAC comienzan en abril. Es fundamental que nuestros estudiantes que aprenden inglés (EL) sigan avanzando. En nuestra reciente reunión de ELAC, compartimos el compromiso de nuestra escuela de brindar un bloque dedicado al desarrollo del lenguaje cada día para fortalecer las habilidades lingüísticas y el vocabulario de los estudiantes. Las familias pueden apoyar este esfuerzo al alentar a los estudiantes a hablar con oraciones completas y participar activamente en las discusiones.

Te invitamos a que te unas a nuestras reuniones y talleres para padres, donde compartimos estrategias para apoyar el aprendizaje en casa. ¡Tu participación hace la diferencia!

Febrero es un mes de amor y amistad, y estamos agradecidos por la increíble comunidad que tenemos en Dolland. Gracias a nuestra Asociación de Padres y Maestros (PTA) y a todos nuestros padres por su continuo apoyo. ¡Ustedes realmente ayudan a que nuestra escuela brille! ATTENTION 5th Grade Families: On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, 5th grade students are scheduled to take their cap & gown and panoramic pictures. Lifetouch flyers have been sent home with your children.
