PTSA Information
The Bella Vista High School Bronco NewsFlash is brought to you by YOUR PTSA.
Join BVHS PTSA TODAY!
Only $12/member to support the program that supports ALL school activities. Sure, there are parent groups & booster clubs for various clubs, teams, and programs - PTSA supports the entire campus.
PTSA meetings are held once a month on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the school library. Everyone is encouraged to attend meetings and contribute to how PTSA supports the campus community. In particular, we hope everyone will attend the September meeting when we approve our budget, the January meeting when we discuss officers for the following year, and March when we vote on new officers for the coming year. The other meetings are Executive meetings where board business is discussed; members are welcome to attend if they wish to learn more about PTSA activities.
Executive meetings are attended by the elected and appointed board members.
Association meetings are attended by the general membership, as well as elected and appointed
board members.

There is no cost to attend Freshman orientation. However, if you would like to make a donation to help fund possible future Link Crew activities such as lunchtime events, Cocoa & Cram, and other social and academic events, a $10.00 donation would be appreciated.
Here are a couple tips for orientation:
● Meet us outside the large gym by the east parking lot.
● You are encouraged not to bring backpacks, purses, or other similar items, as the day is quite active
● Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
● Your Link Crew Leader will be calling you a couple days before orientation to introduce themselves and answer any questions you have.

See you in August!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
The CCC is CLOSED for the remainder of the 2023/24 school year! See you next year!
The Bella Vista College and Career Center (the CCC) is a valuable center for planning life after high school. The CCC is staffed by BV parent volunteers who work with counselors, teachers and staff to provide information and other resources to all students – those who plan to attend a college, those who plan to enter a vocational or occupational training program, and those who just aren’t sure.
WHERE: The CCC is located inside the Bella Vista Library, behind the check-out counter.
WHEN: The CCC is open during library hours mid-September through mid-May. For assistance from trained volunteers, stop by during lunch hours as well as before Open House and Back to School Night. We encourage all parents and students to stop by for a visit.
CONTACT: Please stop by during lunch, call (916)971-5083 or email the CCC Volunteers at bellavistaccc@aol.com.

SPORTS AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Athletes must complete several steps before they can be cleared for athletic participation. Incoming 9th graders will not be able to register on SportsNet until Mid-June.
- The parent and student, together, must complete the online athletic registration and upload or submit a hard copy of the physical form to the Athletics office. Please allow 48 hours after submitting your sports physical to be cleared to participate in tryouts/practice. Registration can be completed by clicking the link below. Please have your student's ID number ready.

- A physical examination and doctor’s certification on the SJUSD Physical Exam document are required. Documents generated by your doctor will not be accepted. In order for the student to be accepted for athletics, the physical must be completed after June 1 prior to the school year in which the athlete plans to compete. You need only one physical annually regardless of the number of sports in which you participate. Print one here - Sports Physical Form. Once complete, please upload a copy of the completed physical to the online registration and keep the original for your records. PLEASE DO NOT give completed physicals to the coach.
- Insurance coverage is required to cover possible accidents. You must have medical coverage (at least $1,500). Coverage may be by parent’s private insurance company or school accident insurance policy (www.studentinsurance.com).
- A student has the opportunity to participate/tryout for a team once all athletic registration components have been submitted and the coach has received the verification clearance from the Athletic Director.
