Appraisers needed for Destination Imagination tournament!
The inaugural teams for McKinley's Destination Imagination have hit the ground running! The kids are working hard doing some Top Secret Vanishing while being In it Together to Save the Day for some Show and Tech!! Intrigued? The kids will be presenting all their hard work at the regional Destination Imagination tournament on Saturday March 18 at Muskego High School. The tournament is in need of volunteer appraisers (a kinder, gentler word for 'judges') to help appraise all the teams presenting. It will likely be an all-day commitment. Each school with teams represented at the tournament are encouraged to find appraisers. Interested? Contact Monica Deluhery at monica.deluhery@gmail.com.

The Fennering Project
THANK YOU McKinley Student’s and Staff!
We are happy to announce the Fennering Project recipients! It was really heartwarming to read the numerous Fennering ideas that each class came up with to spread kindness in and around our McKinley community in honor of Mr. Fenner. What we really noticed was the enormous amount of thought that went into the kids brainstorming idea’s. It really showed how kind and generous the children at McKinley are and what big hearts they have. We wish we could have funded them all but we feel really excited about what the kids selected. The recipients will be receiving their items this week (week of January 30th) as we finish getting them ready for delivery. Please see the below letter that will be given to each recipient that explains why they are receiving a gift from our school as well.

HID Volunteer Opportunities
Be a part of one of the most anticipated days of the year. This year’s HID is on Friday, April 28th and we’d love to have you join in the fun. The HID committee is looking for a volunteer to assist Kirsten Dodulik with her jewelry making class. Kirsten ages out after this year, so we’re looking for someone who would be willing to lead the class next year. We’re also looking for someone to assist Maura Riordan with the popular Tasty Treats class. Please contact Heidi Engbring (hengbring@wi.rr.com) if you have questions or if you’re willing to help.
PTO Committee Help Needed!
We have an immediate vacancy for someone to chair the Dining Out fundraising events. This role involves contacting restaurants, making arrangements to hold events, and following up after the event. You would not be required to attend the actual event. This position could be handled by one person or a small committee. The PTO has ideas and contact information for restaurants that have been successful fundraisers in the past.
We are also looking for someone to co-chair the spring book fair and take over as the book fair chair for the 2017-18 school year. Our long-time chairperson, Melissa Mann, will not be at McKinley next year. We'd like to fill this position now so the incoming chair person could work with Melissa for the spring book fair.
Finally, we are in need of a new PTO Treasurer for the coming school year. If you are interested, please contact current treasurer Phil Janowski for more information.
If you are interested in learning more about these positions, please contact Kristi Knoedler, Chris Riley, or Molly Hannan for more information. Thanks!
