HALLOWEEN PARADE & PARTY👻 🎃 🍭
School Wide Parade 1:30-1:45 pm
Students in Pre-K to 5th grade will be parading in their costumes outdoors. Parents are invited to watch the parade from the designated grassy area outside the yellow line, as shown in the attached picture. Please note that the outdoor parade is weather-dependent and will not be rescheduled if it's inclement. In case of bad weather, the parade will be moved indoors for students only. We hope for favorable weather conditions for this fun event!
Classroom Party 1:50-2:50 pm
After the Halloween parade, students in Pre-K to 5th grade will enjoy a classroom party sponsored and organized by our PTA and parent room representatives. School dismissal will be at 3:05 PM.
Students are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to school for the day. We look forward to seeing our students dressed in festive Halloween or fall attire. However, we strongly emphasize the importance of choosing costumes that are comfortable and appropriate for a school environment. Costumes that do not adhere to our guidelines will not be permitted. Please carefully review the costume guidelines before selecting your child's outfit.
For students who do not celebrate Halloween, they will have the opportunity to participate in a fall-themed independent activity in the library.
Page 22 - Parent/Student Handbook

Reflections Art Contest
A big thank you to everyone who attended the district PTA's Reflections workshop! Now that you're inspired, we're calling all creative Cougars to participate in the National PTA Reflections Art Contest! If your child is interested in showcasing their artistic talents, head over to this link to fill out the Entry Form: https://tinyurl.com/KHReflectionsForm24. Let's see those artistic visions come to life!
School Hat & Glove Drive
We are hosting a collection drive from October 21st to October 31st to gather new winter hats and new winter gloves for Kimball Hill students in need. If you'd like to donate, please send the items with your child or drop them off in the collection bin located in our front vestibule during school hours. Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of our students. Thank you for your support!
Bathroom Breaks
We've noticed a significant increase in students requesting bathroom breaks during lunch and recess. To ensure student safety and supervision, we kindly ask that you remind your child to only use the bathroom during these times if it's an emergency. All students have designated bathroom breaks in the morning and afternoon.
We've observed that many students are using the bathroom as a way to socialize with friends. While we always allow students to use the bathroom when needed, we encourage responsible behavior and discourage playing around.
We're working to address this issue proactively with our students and appreciate your partnership in helping us maintain a safe and orderly school environment.
Veterans Day
Looking ahead, our annual Veterans Day assembly is coming up on November 11th, a special event to honor our community veterans. We want to give advance notice for those that may want to participate. f you have a beloved veteran in your family you'd like to honor, we invite you to submit a picture for a slideshow during the assembly. You can drop the picture into this Veterans Day photos folder or email it to leachm@ccsd15.net. All pictures must be submitted no later than November 4th.
Space at the assembly is limited, but we'd be honored to welcome veterans themselves, along with 1-2 additional family members. If you'd like to attend with your veteran, please RSVP for Veteran. Of course, if you prefer to only share a picture, that's perfectly welcome and deeply appreciated!
Students will learn about the sacrifices these brave individuals made for our country, and will participate in a school-wide sing-along of songs they've practiced in Music class. To show our spirit, we encourage all students to wear red, white, and blue on that day!
