NEW Zoo & Adventure Park Volunteer Opportunities
The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is currently in great need of volunteers to help with a variety of experiences, including things like giraffe and children’s zoo feedings, assisting with large zoo events (such as the upcoming “Zoo Boo!”), running the carousel, routine cleaning and maintenance, animal encounters, and much more. The zoo accepts volunteers as young as 8 years old with chaperone assistance, and those ages 15+ can be here on their own. Volunteering at the zoo is a great opportunity for families, individuals, and groups of all sizes, and opportunities are available for both one-time and continuing experiences.
Unlike most accredited zoos in the country, the NEW Zoo is fully self-funded and does not receive any tax support for operations. This means their budget is small and they rely on the community for support! The NEW Zoo is dedicated to conservation and education. Supporting the NEW Zoo helps us achieve our mission of connecting our community with wildlife and nature. To learn more:

GIVING TREE
The Giving Tree will be starting to register families for our December Holiday Store. Please reach out to your school social worker if you think your student may benefit from assistance with The Giving Tree. For our generous community, look for information in future district communications and on our website about donating to our Holiday Store and volunteering! Information should be shared starting October 12.
The month of October we are collecting canned carrots and corn. Please feel free to send donations with your students to put in the collections bins/carts near the main office of school. Items can also be dropped off during school hours. The Giving Tree appreciates the community support in helping ensure food is not a barrier to a student’s education.
Thank you!
