OUR MISSION
Our mission is to build, support and inspire a community of successful learners. We strive to maintain a safe and orderly environment conducive to learning that supports all members of our diverse community through mutual respect and acceptance. We are committed to meeting the social and academic needs of all students by preparing them to be college, career, and life ready.
We are an AVID school! AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

In November we are learning mindfulness strategies. Here are some videos and discussion points to help you talk about mindfulness with your child:
GoNoodle video: https://www.gonoodle.com/videos/eXA9JX/get-back-on-track
• What do you think the word mindfulness means?
• Is it easy for you to be in the present moment? Explain.
• Why do you think being in the present moment can be helpful?
• Do you like to sit in silence? Why or why not?
• Do you notice your feelings before they get out of control?
• Why do you think noticing your thoughts and feelings can be helpful?
Have a question for our counselor, Megan Davis? You can email her at davismc@mdusd.org.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
AVID - FOCUS ON CAREERS
We are looking for members from our community that are interested in spotlighting their careers. Our AVID team would like to collect short videos (less than 5 minutes) that tell what the career is, how it helps the community/society, whether a college degree is required, etc. On the job footage would be great. We will push these videos out to the classrooms to watch. Please email Mrs. Tosi if you are interested ~ tosij@mdusd.org.
SCHOOL AUCTION - SAVE THE DATE!
VOLUNTEERS
All volunteers must follow district guidelines before volunteering in your classrooms. Volunteers must be fingerprinted and TB tested. We are keeping a list of approved volunteers for our school in the office.
*COVID vaccination status is no longer required.
