The Tuesday Notice
January 28, 2025
Thank you to everyone who joined us for History and Vision Night last week! It was such a meaningful time to come together, connect, and hear heartfelt stories from faculty, parents, board members, and a former student about how the Siskiyou School has enriched our community.
I’m thrilled to share that since then, our Annual Giving total has seen a significant boost, with donations both large and small bringing us to over $90,000—more than 75% of our $115,000 goal! With several families still yet to contribute, I’m confident that, through our collective effort, we can reach this goal together.
We are striving for 100% participation from all families. This not only strengthens our eligibility for grants but also ensures the continued vitality of our school. For those who haven’t yet had the opportunity to give, I encourage you to use this campaign as a moment to reflect on what this community means to your family. Every contribution—no matter the size—brings us closer to our goal and supports the exceptional education we are committed to providing. Thank you for being part of this important effort!

Butterfly Class - 5th Grade
The Butterfly Class is finishing up our second block on ancient civilizations. With ancient Egypt came the beloved Ancient Egypt project. The students found their own topic of study and in their reports, they answered a question they developed along the way. The topics ranged from, artwork, jewelry, dance and warfare, to pyramids, mummification, and the daily life of women in rural settings. The detailed writings and beautiful artistic works were beyond my greatest hopes.
From here we'll move back into North American Geography, and really consider the states and features of the USA. I look forward to witnessing the engagement of the 5th grade as they learn about the states, and their wider world in a new way.
