The Riverview Reader
Updates For The Week of October 23
Principal's Corner
Riverview Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed a safe and restful MEA break. We are excited to welcome our students back to school and continue to build on the progress we have made during the first 6 weeks of school. We are proud of how much our students have already learned and are excited to see the growth they are going to show the remainder of the year!
As the weather turns colder, please be sure to dress your child appropriately for the weather. We will go outside for recess anytime the temp is above 0 and several classes take walks outside during their movement breaks. Also, it is a good idea to label your child's winter gear so that those articles don't join our lost-and-found. We appreciate the help!
Best wishes for a great week!
Shawn Peck
Principal

Farmington Student Experiences Survey To Take Place Between October 30 & November 10
In order to learn more about student experiences at school, we will be asking for feedback from students in grades 3-12 via an online survey they will be completing at school during the window of October 30-November 10, 2023. The survey should take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether. The responses to these surveys will be completely confidential.
All responses in the student survey will remain confidential to protect individual privacy. You may review a copy of the sample survey questions online by clicking on this link or scanning the QR code.
If you do not wish for your child to participate in the Farmington Student Experiences survey being conducted, you may opt out by completing this “Decline Survey Participation” form and returning it to your child’s teacher or main office by October 27, 2023. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact your student’s building principal.
Tiger Fridays Returning to Riverview!
SeeSaw App To Change It's App Icon
Seesaw will be updating its logo on October 27th. The app icon on student iPads will change around that time, so you will now see a purple S. Everything within the app will stay the same.

Please Be Aware of Safety Patrols and SLOW DOWN When Arriving In The Morning
We have seen and heard reports of people coming in a little too hot in the morning and creating a potentially dangerous situation for our students who are walkers and those who serve on safety patrol. This obviously includes the Riverview parking lot but the situation is most serious at the crossing near Dodge Middle School (see below). Our patrollers and parents have reported that cars routinely travel too fast down 208th Street and that some cars do not stop when the patrollers are in the road crossing pedestrians. Be mindful of the safety of everyone when getting to school.
