Welcome back to all from Winter Break! Hopefully your time away allowed for rest and relaxation. It is hard to imagine that we are approaching the halfway point of the school year. Everyone has a fresh start with the new semester. It is encouraged to start strong. "The secret of getting ahead is getting started." - Mark Twain. Much like the start of the school year, it is important to establish routines and commit to positive habits. Being in school and staying up on your studies is essential to your academic progress. To our Seniors, you are close, but not there yet! Continue to embrace the grind and finish strong.

Reminder - Upcoming Dates

No School Friday, January 10th & Monday, January 13th

Second Semester (SEM2) begins Tuesday, January 14th.

Semester grades are what will appear on student transcripts. Each marking period represents 50%. (MP1 - 50% + MP2 - 50% = Sem1 Grade).

Grades Viewable - Monday, January 20th

Course Schedules are available on Student & Parent Connect. We are still balancing class sizes and there may be some changes still. Any movement will be finalized on Monday, January 13th. Be sure to check prior to school next Tuesday.

Attention Seniors and Families,

The Livonia Education Association awards five scholarships annually. One senior from each of the three high schools is awarded $1000, $1000 to a senior attending a community college or trade school, and $1500 for the McClain Scholarship. Please use the link below to apply. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on March 31.

LEA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

This year the FAFSA will be available to begin applying on December 1st, 2024. Current seniors and their parent or guardian will complete the 2025-26 FAFSA to be considered for Financial Aid for the 25-26 school year.

Along with the launch in December of a shorter & simpler Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to request financial help for the 2025-26 year, the Michigan Student Scholarship & Grant (MiSSG) department will be providing financial aid & resources to the Class of 2025 & their caregivers. Sign up for one of the virtual presentations below to get information on how to take advantage of the Michigan Achievement Scholarship & Community College Guarantee!

In order to help our families maximize the amount of money awarded from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), LPS is hosting a FAFSA workshop for seniors on three different dates. The workshop is designed for you and your child to be able to begin (or continue), complete, and submit the FAFSA during the Workshop. In order to make sure we can provide the necessary assistance; we are requiring parents/students to sign up. If you are interested in attending the Workshop, please click on the link below and complete the sign up for the date and time that works for you.

The yearly membership fee is $20 and 100% of the money raised goes directly to our students, clubs, teams, classes and more. Your membership allows you to vote on funding requests presented at our monthly meetings. We will not bombard you with emails or texts and you are not required to attend meetings.
