WANT TO USE A SMARTPHONE OR TABLET TO ACCESS THE PARENT PORTAL?
There's an app for that!
- Download the Infinite Campus PARENT app to your phone. (The STUDENT app is one your student will download when they are older and in middle or high school.)
- Type 'Columbus' when it asks for the district then select Columbus City Schools and Ohio for the state.
- You are either a NEW USER or an EXISTING USER
NEW USER
If you have never accessed the Parent Portal, you will need an activation key. This was given to you upon enrollment of your student. If you have misplaced this information, you can go to your child’s school with your picture ID and the secretary can give you the code. Other options are calling FACTLine to obtain your activation key or by sending an email, that includes legal guardian’s/parent’s picture ID and full legal name and birthdate of child to Parent Portal Access.
DON'T KNOW
If you don't know whether you are a NEW USER or EXISTING USER, first try recovering your username using the email you provided at time of enrollment. If you don't receive anything, then send an email that includes legal guardian’s/parent’s picture ID and full legal name and birthdate of child to Parent Portal Access. You can also call the FACTLine.
EXISTING USER
Enter your user name and password.

If you have forgotten your username, you may contact the FACTLine or Parent Portal access. Send an email that includes legal guardian’s/parent’s picture ID and full legal name and birthdate of child to Parent Portal Access.

On the Today tab, scroll down to the Documents Need Attention section. Here you will see the RIMP Parent Signature form to be signed. Click the form to begin the signature process

Annual Update
- Go to the three lines at the top left of the screen
- Select 'More'
- Select "Annual Update'
- Click or touch to start the update
It will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete the update for each child you have attending in the district. You will be able to update Emergency Contacts or any Household changes.
Family Information
HOW TO CHANGE FAMILY CONTACT INFORMATION:
- Go to the menu (3 horizontal lines at the top left hand corner)
- Click 'More'
- Click 'Family Information'
- Go through the contacts and update any changes needed
If you're unable to make changes then you may need to do the Annual Update first, which will make this step unnecessary. You'll be able to make any changes needed in the Annual Update.
Grades
HOW TO VIEW GRADES ONCE LOGGED ONTO THE PARENT PORTAL:
- Go to the menu (3 horizontal lines at the top left hand corner)
- Click 'Grades'
- If you don't know what a grade means, click on the arrow to the right of the grade
- Click on the 'i' to the right of the grade
- An explanation should appear the describes what each grade means
Attendance
HOW TO VIEW ATTENDANCE IN PARENT PORTAL
- Click 'Attendance'
- Check each quarter and review 'unexcused absences' in red
- Look at the date of the absence or tardy (not the number of absences as it refers to the number of classes missed, not the number of days, i.e., reading class, math class, gym class, etc.)
- If an 'unexcused absence' or 'tardy' is due to an illness, doctor's appointment, religious holiday, or family funeral, please let the office know so it may be reviewed and possibly changed to an 'excused absence'
Transportation
- Go to the menu (3 bars/horizontal lines at the top left hand corner)
- Click 'More'
- Click 'Transportation
Address
HOW TO UPDATE YOUR ADDRESS IN PARENT PORTAL
- Go to the menu (3 horizontal lines at the top left hand corner)
- Click on 'More'
- Go to 'Annual Update'
- Follow the instructions and review all of the household information
- Many families will upload a utility bill or signed lease with the guardian's name on it and new address (there are also other forms of documentation CCS will accept as well)
- If a guardian's name is not on the documentation, please refer to the Verification of Residency form below that will need to be completed and uploaded in the Annual Update in order for your address to be changed
In the Annual Update you'll be able to make any Household changes, just be sure to have address verification ready to upload.

In order to proceed you must 'Agree' to the terms.

Verify that your name is listed correctly. If so, click 'Yes' and if it's not correct you will have to email Parent Portal in order for them to update the name listed at time of enrollment.

Verify the phone number(s) and email on file and if it's correct click 'Yes'. If they're not correct you will have to fill out the Annual Update to make those changes. If you have already filled out the Annual Update you can go into Family Information.
Create
After verifying all of the information as correct you will be able to create an application. Click 'Create' next to your student's name.
School Choice Lottery
Yes
Verify the address listed and if it's correct then click 'Yes' to proceed. If the address isn't correct then you will have to do the Annual Update to make those changes, be sure to have proof of address ready to upload.

Click Yes or No in the dropdown menus for both Special Education and English Learner Services. Please make sure that your selections are accurate. When finished click 'Next' to proceed.

Terms
Agree
Once you've read through the terms and reached the bottom of the page click 'Agree'. If you choose to 'Reject' then you will not be able to enter the lottery. The application does not save if you click 'Cancel'.
Successful
That's it, you've successfully submitted your lottery application. Now you wait until you receive an email with an offer. You can check the status of your application under 'Existing', click on your students name and then click details to view offers or waitlist number.
Once you accept an offer from any of your school choices you will be removed from the other school's waitlist. Please be sure before accepting an offer as you cannot just change your mind. You would simply have to reenter the lottery and you would be at the bottom of the waitlist. After receiving an offer through email you will have 48 hours to respond.

KEEP IN MIND
- Only those listed as 'guardians' upon enrollment at CCS may have access to the Parent Portal
- There are separate activation keys/codes for each guardian or parent so each guardian or parent can set up their own individual user name and password
- If there is a desire to remove a parent or caregiver that is listed as 'guardian,' you will need to contact CCS Central Enrollment at (614) 365-4011 or the CCS Fact Line (614) 221-3228.
