- Find time for activities: Routines can help parents find time for enjoyable activities.
- Strengthen family bonds: Routines can help parents build in time together throughout busy days.
- Help children feel safe: Routines can help children feel safe and develop a sense of control.
- Help children develop life skills: Routines can help children develop life skills and build healthy habits.
- Help children handle unexpected stressors: Children who develop self-regulation through routine are typically better able to handle unexpected stressors.
- Help children adjust to change: As children grow, routines can help them adjust to change more easily.

Start with Hello!
The Sandy Hook Promises' Start With Hello program will be coming to ECLC the week of September 30th. This is a national week that focuses on encouraging students to reach out to others who may be isolated and can become victims of bullying, violence, and/or depression. Mrs. Eberwein, our school counselor, is sending out a letter with more background information on this very important week.

Fancy Lunch!
We want to continue to help promote positive behavior during Kindergarten Lunch. Therefore, students can earn a “Fancy Lunch” incentive!
FANCY LUNCH!!! What is it?
Fancy Lunch is a special “Fancy” table set up that can be earned weekly by individual classrooms.
How does it work?
Each Friday one classroom per lunch group will come into the cafeteria and see their table decorated for the Fancy Lunch. There will be a tablecloth and flowers decorating the table.
The students will get to sit and enjoy their Fancy Lunch and may even get a special visit from staff members who will sit and eat with them to celebrate their positive behavior.
How can classrooms earn the Fancy Lunch?
Each day during lunch, the lunch monitors will give a large Andy Paw to the classrooms who exhibit positive behaviors. These paws will be displayed in the cafeteria for everyone to see. At the end of the week, the classroom with the most Andy Paws earned during lunch will get their Fancy Lunch set up.
How do classrooms earn their Fancy Lunch Andy Paws?
Students are asked to follow specific Positive Behaviors that are highlighted in the ECLC Matrix 2022 Proof KD.pdf
Quiet Voice
Walking Feet
Hands to Self
In addition students should follow additional lunchroom behavior expectations.
Where are the Fancy Lunch table decorations?
The decorations will be stored in the cabinets in the cafeteria.
We feel that this will be a fun way to highlight our students' positive behaviors!
Congratulations to our Fancy Lunch Winners!

Bus Behavior
Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students on school buses is of our top priorities. Please take note of the following guidelines that your child must adhere to while using school transportation. Students who repeatedly do not follow expectations will be subject to a bus referral. Multiple referrals can lead to loss of bus privileges.
From the Student Handbook:
The following regulations pertain to school bus conduct and are intended to ensure the safety and welfare of the students, the bus driver and other drivers on the road and to ensure the safety and proper maintenance of school buses.
Students will:
Follow classroom conduct rules at all times.
Be at designated place of safety on residence side of street (not in house, car, etc.) for pick up five minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive.
Be courteous. Use no profane language or gestures. No disruptive behavior, fighting, bullying, indecent behavior, possession of weapons, tobacco products, drugs, alcohol, etc.
Stay in seat while the bus is moving. Keep head, hands and feet to self and inside the bus.
Maintain an aisle way. Only objects that can be held on lap are permitted. No animals of any kind are allowed on the bus. We discourage the use of book bags with wheels and the bringing of skateboards, fishing rods and/or large projects on the bus.
Not eat or drink on the bus. Keep the bus clean. Do not be destructive.
Cooperate with the driver and follow directions regarding pick-up, drop off, crossing, silence at railroad tracks, etc.
Sit in seats assigned by bus driver.
Remain at the designated place of safety for drop off on residence side of street until the bus has left before proceeding home.
Thank you for helping us reinforce these rules with your child. By working together, we can ensure a safe and positive transportation experience for all students!
