First Things First!
Parent Survey - YOUR RESPONSE NEEDED by May 9!
Each year, the San Diego Met as an independent study school of choice is required by state law to gather input from parents and families about your experience with our school. This process includes a parent survey that is linked here, which we are asking all Met parents/guardians to complete by May 9, 2025. Please take just a few minutes to complete this survey, which includes only 7 quick questions.
THANK YOU!

MetUp Career Day a Success!
Our MetUp on Friday, April 26, was on the theme of Exploring Career Pathways with Mesa College.
Mesa CTE (Career Technical Education) faculty led our students in 7 different sessions in their classroom, clinical, and departmental spaces, generously giving their time and offering engaging hands-on experiences. The seven departments represented were: Marketing, Child Development,
Building Construction Technology, Hospitality / Culinary Arts & Management, Medical Assisting, Radiologic Technology, and Web Development. Ask your student which one they attended and what their experience was like!
Our MetUp also included ASB elections in which our next group of student leaders gave speeches and were then elected by their peers. Congrats to Ashton, Sofie S, and Ezri!
After the MetUp, our Fashion Club and the Aspen Challenge team offered a "Spill the Tea" sewing experience in our Makers Space.

10th Grade Research Presented
On the evening of May 1st, the class of 2027 presented the results of a year long research project that explored how to address student disengagement. They worked with UCSD to create a research question, collected qualitative and quantitative data, synthesized data, and proposed recommendations to UCSD and SDUSD leaders. Because of their efforts, our research group was awarded $4000 to execute their recommendations.

College and Career
California Colleges Guidance Initiative (CCGI)
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As part of our ongoing efforts to support your student in preparing for life after high school, we’re excited to share that we are implementing the California Colleges Guidance Initiative (CCGI). This platform is designed to simplify the college and financial aid application process for students and provide schools with valuable tools to better support them.
What You Need to Know:
Starting next school year (2025–2026), all seniors will use CaliforniaColleges.edu to complete their UC, CSU, and California Community College applications, as well as their financial aid applications (FAFSA or CADAA).
- We will share more information with both students and families when we have it, and we look forward to full implementation in August 2025.
Thank you for being a vital part of your student’s journey toward college and career success!
Business Class Staffing
Ms. Mann-Deibert, our Business teacher, will be resigning her position, and her last day is May 9. Starting on May 12, her Period 3 Business class and Period 5 Met Media class will be staffed by substitute teachers to ensure that our students can be effectively supported and supervised through the end of the school year.
