Kindergarten has a field trip coming up! We will be going to Harvest Moon Fun Farm on December 13th, 2024. Field Trip letters and permission slips went home in Take Home folders the week of November 4th.

Please make sure your child is independently engaging in Lexia Core 5 and Zearn at home. Both are on MyPascoConnect. The username is your child's student number/lunch number. Teachers will send you their passwords.

In our current task, students are grasping the concept that we have to work to earn the funds to get items we need and want. They are also finding ways to help others in their community.

"Exploring Opposites" is our next task. Students will be learning about opposites in the day and night skies. They will also learn about how authors use scientific ideas to write stories. Exploring Opposites will launch on November 18th.

A great way for your child to love reading is to see their role models loving to read, so don't be afraid to spend lots of time reading to them.

This year kindergarten is using the UFLI Foundations program. Home practice will be sent home after each lesson starting with lesson 5. A Weekly Reading and Spelling Practice Guide was sent home earlier this school year in Take Home Folders to help explain how you can review at home with your student.

Above you will find a video that explains how you can support your reader at home. Below is a PDF of both the Weekly Reading and Spelling Home Practice Guide & printable letter tiles and mat. Please let your teacher know if you need a copy of the letter tiles and mat sent home.

We want students to be excited about expressing themselves through writing. Students will be working on drawing detailed pictures and writing multiple sentences on topic. Sentences may have the same sentence stem. An example might be: "I like pumpkins. I like bats." They have such great stories to share and are continuing to build their writing stamina.

Math module 2 focuses on two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes. We will complete and assess this module the week of November 11th.

Math module 3 focuses on measurement and comparison. We are starting this module the week of November 18th.
