Greetings Patriot Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying the Fall Break and the cooler temperatures! We are looking forward to kicking off our Homecoming activities on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 when our students return back to school. Parents we need your help to make Homecoming 2024 a success! There are a variety of ways you can get involved and assist our Homecoming Committee. Please see the flyer and the links further down in this newsletter for more information.

Our 2024 Graduation Rate is in! We are excited to announce the HIGHEST graduation in Sandy Creek History! Overall, we have achieved 91.4% with a 4-year Graduation Rate of 92.3%! I could not be more proud of our students, teachers and staff, counselors, and our administrative team! It truly takes a collective effort to achieve success and I am honored to serve our community with a focus on continual school improvement!

Our Fine Arts Department put on a fantastic show last Thursday night with the production of 12 Angry Jurors. The Drama department will use this same production later this month in the One Act Play competition. Our Chorus was featured in the All County Honor Chorus held at Georgia Southern and gave a phenomenal performance.

Congratulations are in order to our Varsity Softball team who have ended their season for the 2024 school year. A special thank you to Coach Chisolm, Coach Downing-Hill, and Coach Cam for a great season with our players! The Varsity Football team defeated Fayette County High School last Friday and will play another in-county Region game against Whitewater for Homecoming this Friday. Congratulations to Coach Lewis and the Lady Patriots Volleyball Team for a 2nd place finish in the Region! Volleyball will play the first round of the State Playoffs at home against Riverdale High School on Wednesday at 6pm. Please come out and show your support as our Volleyball team makes a run for a Repeat State Championship run!

We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a Competitive Advantage!

The math lab will now be open during study hall on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Please tell students to request a pass to 226 if they need tutoring. I'm also attaching something you can post if you'd like.

I wanted to inform you that the DPH has extended the Immunization Audit deadline to October 25, 2024, due to issues with the Georgia IMM registry.

Please send me the updated 3231 forms with the MCV4 information for your students as soon as possible, as I currently don’t have access to the GA registry to verify them. A copy of the form from your doctor is necessary for my records.

If any students are missing documentation, I will reach out to you via email.

Please provide the nurse with copies for your students Immunization records on the GA Form 3231. I also need a copy of your students' 3300 Form ( Hearing, Vision, Dental and Nutrition). If you have not done so please make an appointment with your private doctor to request these documents be completed or the Health department.

Students from the SCHS Chorus Department participated in the 2024 High School All County Honor Chorus. This year's director was Dr. Shannon Jeffreys from Georgia Southern University. They presented a phenomenal culminating concert which also featured soloist Neilah Bell.

We have a rich tradition in athletics here at Sandy Creek with more than 10 State Championships in sports such as football, basketball, track, and volleyball.

Our scoreboard was built in 1991 and we are in need of a new board to match our dynamic and talented athletic teams. The vision at Sandy Creek High School is to provide students a competitive advantage in whatever endeavor they choose after high school. With your assistance we can help the students prepare for those endeavors while branding your business and supporting our community. About Notable Narratives:

NN is a 501 (c)(3) college essay service organization that provides completely free college essay editing services to first generation and/or low income (FGLI) high school seniors applying to college. We do this by pairing college applicants with FGLI college students, as having an advisor that comes from a similar background will allow students to feel more comfortable receiving help

Since our founding in August 2020:

• Our 90 FGLI college advisors have assisted over 1,750 students from 102 unique countries and all 50 states.

• 1 in 4 students who filled out our annual survey were accepted into an Ivy League or Stanford University.

• 94% of our students were BIPOC, and 50% identified as both first-generation and low-income.

Next Steps:

Attached is a Registration Form for you to share with your students. NN’s services are available to those who self-identify as low income and/or first generation; students do not need to identify as both to apply. I will also be sending this resource to the SCHS counselors.

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.

• Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
• Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
• After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
