Dear Winston Parents and Guardians,
We hope your families enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating spring break! We are excited to welcome our students back to school on Monday, and we're hoping they're recharged and ready for the final stretch of the third quarter.
Please remember that the third quarter ends on Thursday, April 11th. We strongly encourage you to check your student's grades and assignments on Infinite Campus (IC) to ensure all work is submitted and up-to-date before the quarter ends. This is a crucial time for students to finalize their grades, and your support in monitoring their progress is greatly appreciated.
Prior to spring break, our students were busy with a variety of activities, including sports tryouts and a fun-filled March Madness assembly, all while continuing their academic learning. We are proud of their engagement and look forward to a strong finish to the quarter.

Por favor, recuerden que el tercer trimestre termina el jueves, 11 de abril. Dear Warrior Families,
After we return from Spring Break, our students will be taking the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) test. Testing will take place from April 8-10, during which students will complete three math tests and two reading tests over three days.
This test is important as it reflects what your child has learned throughout the year and helps the district make critical decisions regarding curriculum and instruction. Additionally, a composite score from the test is included on each school’s state report card.
We kindly ask for your support in ensuring that students are well-rested, present, and on time during these testing days. Attendance is crucial, as any missed tests must be made up, which takes away from valuable instructional time.

Queridas familias de los Warriors,
Después de las vacaciones de primavera, nuestros estudiantes tomarán la Evaluación de Preparación de Illinois (IAR). Las pruebas se llevarán a cabo del 8 al 10 de abril, durante los cuales los estudiantes completarán tres exámenes de matemáticas y dos exámenes de lectura en un período de tres días.
Esta evaluación es importante porque refleja lo que su hijo ha aprendido a lo largo del año y ayuda al distrito a tomar decisiones clave sobre el currículo y la enseñanza. Además, un puntaje compuesto de la prueba se incluye en el reporte estatal de cada escuela.

We continue our March Book Madness in the library. We started with 16 books (3 weeks ago) that were placed into brackets similar to the college basketball NCAA tournaments.
Each day students listen to book talks of two books during the morning announcements and vote for the book they would likely read. The book with the most school wide votes wins the matchup and moves on. The losing book is eliminated.
Check out the pictures of some students and our Warrior mascot enjoying the book brackets and take a look at the pic of current books that have made it to the Elite 8.
This is a fun way to let students hear about great books and get students excited about reading.

Continuamos con nuestra Locura de Libros de Marzo en la biblioteca. Comenzamos con 16 libros (hace 3 semanas) que fueron colocados en grupos, similares a los torneos de baloncesto universitario de la NCAA.
Cada día, los estudiantes escuchan reseñas de dos libros durante los anuncios matutinos y votan por el libro que probablemente leerían. El libro con la mayor cantidad de votos de toda la escuela gana el enfrentamiento y avanza. El libro perdedor es eliminado.
Echa un vistazo a las fotos de algunos estudiantes y nuestra mascota Guerrero disfrutando de los grupos de libros y mira la foto de los libros actuales que han llegado a los "Elite 8" (Los 8 Mejores).

Register for the 2025-2026 year!
Every student—new and returning—must register each year. We encourage families to register their child(ren) as early as possible. Learn more about the registration process and register on our website.
District 15 will be transitioning from Infinite Campus to PowerSchool in 2025-26. All families will need to create their PowerSchool account in order to register for school for next year. Thank you for your timely action as we launch this new system. We are committed to making this transition as seamless as possible.
Registering early helps us solidify staffing for our schools, allows your child(ren) to be placed on a class list, and allows your child(ren) to ride a bus to and from school. Registration MUST be completed and student fees must be paid by July 15, 2025.
In order to place all students in a classroom and on bus routes, we ask that you please do your part and register on or before July 15.
