At Riverwood, we love to go outside for recess every day, as long as the temperature is at least 11 degrees above the wind chill! Since the playground can get a bit wet and chilly, we suggest dressing warmly. Be sure to wear coats, snow pants, boots, hats, gloves or mittens, and scarves to stay cozy! It’s also a great idea to pack an extra pair of clothes, especially socks, so everyone can have fun while staying comfortable.
Riverwood Chorus Club 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade
Riverwood Chorus Club is starting in January.
Attendance Dates - January: 27th & 29th. February: 3rd, 5th, 10th, 12th, 19th, 24th & 26th. More dates to be added in February.
The Riverwood Chorus Club meets Monday's and Wednesday's, from 4:00-5:00 pm in Mrs. Cumming's room. Please have a ride ready to be pick up by 5:00pm at Door #12!
Riverwood Recorder Consort 4th Grade
The 4th Grade Riverwood Recorder Consort starts in January.
Monday’s and Thursday’s, 8:00-8:45am
Attendance Dates - January: 30th. February: 3rd, 6th, 10th, 13th, 20th, 24th and 27th. More dates to be added in February.
Transportation to attend is the responsibility of the parents. Mr. Rowlett will bring students into the building at the Gym Door #11 promptly at 8:00 am. Please don't send your child to the building before 8:00 am as there is no supervision available and never to the office door.
Young Engineers Club 5th Grade
Young Engineers will be building and programming Hummingbird Robtos. This club is an engaging and easy extension of the robotics skills learned in the Innovation Center and to learn about engineering.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS
- Current and Valid Paraprofessional License; 60 college credit hour or Work Keys Test/other ISBE requirement for obtaining Paraprofessional License.
- Fluency in Spanish language required in both reading and writing.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist teachers, parents and office by interpreting and translating communication between school and home: may include contacts, conferences, office communications and home visits.
- Ability to work as a cooperating member of a team and effectively communicate with students, teachers, parents and administration; Positive attitude and dependability a must.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in English and Spanish.
- Translate announcements, forms, and notices as directed by the immediate supervisor.
- Demonstrates an appreciation and understanding of multicultural perspectives in student learning and the school community.
- Other duties assigned.
PAY AND BENEFITS
- $16.50/hour. The District can provide additional credit to candidates who have prior work experience.
