STUCO
Welcome to a new day of school and a lovely newsletter to read. If it’s well, good morning! If it's the afternoon then have a great evening, night time, good night! No matter what it is, I hope your day goes wonderfully! So, enough of that let's get on with this message. Well the month of March is just another laid back month but we do have a couple of events happening right at the very beginning of it, and I'm telling you this ‘cause I mean it. On the 1st day of March the pep-rally will be taking place in the last hours of that school day.. Therefore it’s a great idea to be prepared for that special day. During the pep-rally we will announce the new STUCO DCMS attire design contest. Students will enter their designs thru March 24th and the winner will receive a free shirt. Other than that STUCO has nothing planned for you and the people of DCMS. That means you have no need to worry about any random presentations that might pop out of nowhere, we’re done with those too. Thanks to that huh? Due to us completing everything STUCO is just going to be planning events that will be happening ahead of time and wrapping up a few things that we still need to get done. Thanks for reading this newsletter, I really appreciate it! Make today a great day or not, the choice will always be yours.

Odyssey & Voyagers
Learning opportunities for Odyssey students in the month of March include the following: In Ms. Figueroa’s math class, students will be working on Module 8 Solve Problems Using Inequalities. In Mr. Varner’s science classes, Students will be finishing learning about forces including magnetic forces. Shortly after spring break, students will start learning about light and sound waves including their applications in the real world. In ELA classes, students will be finishing The Outsiders with a project, movie and the students favorite “Soc and Greaser Day”, a day they get to dress like a character from the book. After our much needed Spring Break we will start back in our workbook reading about “A Starry Home”. In social studies, students will learn about the very eventful period in Kansas history known as the territorial period. A great deal of conflict and violence occurred in this time over the issue of slavery. Finally, in Connect class, students will be preparing for April conference presentations and continuing to learn about digital citizenship.
