The Weekly Update #7

Thank goodness we are back!! I have missed you all! As you begin the new normal, don't forget to be kind to yourself and others. We are entering into a time of Thanksgiving, and I am so thankful for the fact we have all our students and staff! Now to get back to the business of education, but first some information.

To help keep you safe on the roads, our county office and school board want you to come to school on a delayed schedule. Until further notice, we will operate on the following schedule:

Doors open @ 7:15

B'fast: 8:15 - 8:40

Bell @ 8:40

1st block: 8:45 - 10:00

2nd block: 10:05 - 11:20

1st lunch: 11:20 - 11:55

3rd block (1st lunch): 12:00 - 1:15

3rd block (2nd lunch): 11:25 - 12:40

2nd lunch: 12:40 - 1:15

4th block: 1:20 - 2:40

You have undoubtedly noticed the portable toilets on the circle (some are on the first-floor level, too). These will be in place until the county sewer system is repaired. These toilets are basically camper toilets, so they act a little differently than your normal ones. Just remember, add water. When you go into the restroom, lightly step on the pedal to the side of the toilet to allow some water to enter the bowl. Once there is some water, you are good to go. Again, make sure there is water in the bowl before you use the bathroom!

If you ride a bus, make sure you know where your pick up spot is for tomorrow!! Here is the rundown...

When school resumes on November 7, 2024, buses will not run the following roads:

• 226A- Little Switzerland

Bus Drop Off and Pick-Up will be at the top of Lynn Gap

• Crabtree, Chestnut Mountain, McKinney Mine

Bus Drop Off and Pick up will be of Hwy 19 at the Old Murphy Junkyard

• Loggy Hollow

Bus Drop Off and Pick Up will be at the intersection of Loggy Hollow and White Oak

• Hawkeye Road

Bus Drop Off and Pick Up will be at the intersection of Hawkeye Rd. and Wolf Pen Rd.

Please remember that routes will continue to change as roads are cleared and repaired as a result of Hurricane Helene. Will will update and share this list as needed.
