Understanding Title I: Supporting Educational Equity
Title I is a federal program designed to provide financial assistance to schools with high numbers or percentages of children from low-income families. Its goal is to ensure that all students, regardless of their economic background, have access to a quality education and the necessary resources to succeed.
Schools that qualify for Title I funding receive additional support to enhance teaching and learning, close achievement gaps, and improve overall academic performance. This funding helps with tutoring, after-school programs, instructional materials, and other essential educational services.
We have shared a School Compact and Parent Involvement Policy which outlines the roles and responsibilities of families and school staff as we work in partnership for the success of all students. These policies are also available on our website.

From our Family Navigators
The Family Navigators would like to welcome you back to a new school year! We are excited to connect with both our returning students and families, and our new ones! For those that may not be familiar with our role at GASD, we are here to serve and support our families! We help students navigate obstacles, promote a strong connection between families and the school system, encourage student/family involvement, and connect our families to local resources and services. We would like to invite all of our families to meet us out in the community to ask questions, voice concerns, or just to introduce yourself! This month, we will be at the following locations during the following times:

Please join us on the following dates and bring your family, friends and neighbors along! All children must be supervised by their parent/guardian at both events.

From the Nurse🩹
Any students needing medications during the school day must have a medical permission form filled out by their physician. We have those available in the office, or they can be found on the schools website.
Fever: A child should stay home with a temperature over 100. Colds, coughs, and sore throats are common in children, and do not require that they stay home. However, if cold symptoms include a fever, or is excessive enough it is disrupting their learning, you should keep your child at home to rest.
Forms for the Health Hero Vaccination Clinic on Sept. 24th and Mobile Dentist permission forms will be going home soon, please check your child's folders.
Please feel free to call with any questions or concerns you may have.
