Edition 5: It's Fund Run Week!
Principal's Message
I am thrilled to announce that this week marks the start of our ASB Fund Run! Starting Monday morning, each student will receive a unique fundraising link from 99Pledges that can be shared far and wide, and we couldn’t be more excited to get things going. Every dollar raised will go directly back to benefit our students and enhance their educational experience.
Our goal is to raise $15,000, and if each student can raise $50, we would surpass that and get close to an incredible $30,000! Together, we can make this year’s Fund Run a massive success and continue providing our students with the best possible opportunities.
The week will culminate in an exciting Fund Run event during the last hour of school on Friday, where students will come together for a fun, energetic run to celebrate our efforts. We look forward to seeing our students give it their all, both on the track and in their fundraising efforts!
Thank you in advance for your amazing support and for rallying behind our incredible GMS students!

Parenting in the Digital Age
We are excited to invite you to Eastside Technology Night: Parenting in the Digital Age on October 9th at Ridgeline High School Theater from 6:30–7:30 PM. This event is designed to provide valuable insights into creating distraction-free learning environments and ensuring technology safety for students.
Here’s what to expect:
- Welcome & Event Purpose
Learn about the importance of distraction-free learning environments. Hear firsthand from teachers and students about the positive changes taking place in the classroom. - Technology Safety: Insights from "Anxious Generation"
Our school counselors and local law enforcement will share vital information on mental health, device addiction, and how parents can ensure phone safety for their children. We'll also touch on the role of AI in today’s world. - School District Technology Policies
Understand why following district technology policies is essential for student success and well-being in creating distraction-free learning environments and how you can help support our schools. - Practical Resources for Parents
Get access to helpful resources and information to take home, empowering you with the tools to support your child’s healthy tech habits. - Closing & Next Steps
We’ll wrap up with ways to stay informed, including how to sign up for additional resources, videos, and podcasts.
We look forward to seeing you there for this important discussion. Together, we can create a safer and more focused learning environment for our students.
Gotcha Cart Donations
We are looking for your help! We use Gotcha Cards to recognize great student behavior. Periodically we bring out the Gotcha Cart for students to turn in their hard earned cards for great items. If you would like to donate money or items to this card you can do so in the main office at any time. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Drop Off/Pick Up Safety
As we settle into our daily routines, I’d like to remind everyone of the importance of safety during drop-off and pick-up times. Please follow all traffic guidelines, stay alert, and be patient to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
For those students riding bikes, scooters, or skateboards to school, please remember to walk your mode of transportation once you arrive on campus to keep everyone safe. Parents, we kindly ask that you remind your children of this rule, as well as general safety precautions during arrival and dismissal times.
Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this matter!
Homework Help is Live!
Every student is able to get extra academic help Monday - Thursday afterschool until 3:30. Let's keep those grades up!
CNEEB Application
It’s crucial for all families to complete the CNEEB (Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit) application online at https://www.mymealtime.com/Apps/SignIn.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fApps%2f or in person in our main office. This survey helps our school maintain benefits from the federal government, which are used for educational programs, services and benefits for students. This includes meals, academic enrichment programs, counselors/health and wellness services, resources for classrooms and teachers, etc. This year at Greenacres Middle School students are able to receive FREE breakfast and lunch under the CEP. The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) was created as part of the USDA’s National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. It allows schools with high eligibility for free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch to "opt in" to provide free meals for all students in the qualifying school, regardless of income.
PE/Health
Students in PE classes will have an assigned locker in the PE locker room. Also, students are required to purchase a PE uniform (t-shirt) that is $7. PE t-shirts will be distributed to students in PE class when the school year begins. It is not necessary to submit your child's t-shirt size. Payment for the t-shirts can be made in the main office or online. (Online Payment)
Chromebooks
This year students will have access to chromebooks housed in each classroom. Chromebooks will not be checked out to each individual student to take home each day.
