Mountain View Weekly Update
October 18
Announcements & Updates
- Important reminder for all parents: Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Hilltop only. Mountain View students will have full school days on November 4 and 5; only November 6 is an early dismissal (12:45) for Mountain View students.
- 8th grade parents: This year's room parents, Mrs. Korunovski and Ms. Rodrigues, are beginning to plan several events, including the annual holiday breakfast and 8th grade picnic. To that end, they require a class list and parent email addresses. If you do not wish for this information to be shared, please contact Mrs. Toth by Monday, October 21.
- Try-outs for the winter sports season will be November 11-13. Students in grades 6-8 will sign-up via a Google Form posted in Mrs Toth’s Classroom. All sports forms are due to Mrs. Austenberg by Wednesday, October 30, including Medical Eligibility Form and Health History Update form (if needed) . Dr Porter will be in to clear all physicals on Monday, November 4th. If you have not already done so, please fill out the Comprehensive Sports Registration form in the Parent Portal. Please reach out to Mrs Austenberg for any questions.
- New to Mountain View sports? Please click here to review the Athletic Code of Conduct, pay-to-play fees, and more. Note that students will also attend an interest meeting with their respective coach where specific information regarding practices and other expectations will be shared.
Reminders from the Health Office
Respiratory illnesses with fever and cough continue to be prevalent in the community and surrounding areas. As a reminder, please keep your children home if they are sick and reach out to us for guidance on attending school should you have any questions or concerns. Children may return to school after an absence for illness when they are fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication and their symptoms have improved.
Please keep us informed of the symptoms associated with illness when your child is absent. Providing a note from their healthcare provider is important should there be an absence of more than two days.
For all all absences, a written and signed note must be provided upon your child’s return to school, unless a doctor's note has been provided, giving the reason for the absence.
Please remind your children to wash their hands frequently, get ample rest, and bring a water bottle to school daily. We are thankful for your continued efforts to support the wellness of our schools and community.
