FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
Believe it or not, we have only seventeen days of the 2020-2021 school year remaining! While this year has certainly had its challenges, it has also been filled with abundant blessings. I am so grateful for all of your support and dedication this year. Together, we have maintained in-person learning, supported continued learning, and grown our school community!
Please be sure to read over the information and announcements below:
We Had Joy, We Had Fun, We Had Such a GREAT Auction!”
Our Fr. John V. Doyle School Strong 2021 Annual Silent Auction, “Hang On, the WORST is Behind Us!” is now behind us, and was a great success! Thank you to everyone who participated by donating and or bidding on items, and by volunteering at or attending in person or virtually our Kick Off and Closing Events. Very special thank you to our Auction Chair Jen Marra for the fantastic job she did getting everything together! Thanks as well to the band, the “FJVee Dees,” Fr. Woolley, Mr. Mudrack, Mrs. Burns, Mrs. Mattias and Mr. “Rubber Duck” Godin, who performed the Top Ten Worst Hits of the 60s, 70s and 80s, and to our special guest at the Kick Off Event, Mrs. “Dancin' Debbie” Moone! You can still check out the closing event and concert on our Facebook Page. This year's Auction raised over $20,000! These funds will be utilized to finish our Outdoor Multi-Sport Court, including NBA-regulation basketball hoops, volleyball and pickle ball sets, and fencing around the exterior of the court. Additional funds will be utilized for continued textbook enhancements, which have already begun across the grade levels!
RIDOH State Guidance
As many of you are aware, the state of Rhode Island has recently eased many COVID-19 related restrictions. You can find updated guidelines on the RIDOH website here, as well as on the Reopening RI Website here. As we have done throughout this school year, we defer to the guidance and expertise of the Rhode Island Department of Health to help guide our school policies. At this time, the Department of Health states that mask mandates and social distancing guidelines remain in effect in schools and childcare settings. Additional guidance, including stable groupings, cleaning and hygiene protocols, etc. also remain in effect within school and childcare centers.
Last Day of After Care / Last Day of School
Please note the last day for After School Care will be Friday, June 11th. There will be no after school care on Monday, June 14th - Wednesday, June 16th. In addition, please note that the last day of school, Wednesday, June 16th, will be a half day, with dismissal at 11:30am.

Probable Cases & Testing Procedures
The Department of Health has released additional resources for families regarding how to proceed if your child has symptoms at home or becomes ill at school. You can find the RIDOH Resources for Families here. Please note, if your child is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 that indicate a probable case, please call 844-857-1814 from 7:30am-9:30pm seven days a week to schedule a test through the K-12 Testing Network. You should also notify the school as soon as possible.
If your child is experiencing symptoms and is being tested, two tests will be conducted at the K-12 testing site - a rapid test with results within 24 hours, and a PCR test with results within 48 hours. Please note, students are not permitted to return to school until both tests are negative and symptoms have resolved. In addition, families must complete the After Illness Return Attestation Form which can also be found on the homepage of our school website under "Important Links."
A reminder that our hybrid learning policies for students absent due to illness or quarantine can be found in our Hybrid Learning Guide for Students and Families as well as in a quick reference guide here.

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
