Principal's Message
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Students have quickly settled into their routines, working hard on writing, mastering fractions, and sharpening their critical thinking skills. Their dedication to learning has created a positive and productive atmosphere in the classroom.
Parent-teacher interview forms will be sent home next week for you to fill out and return. Interviews are scheduled for November 4 and 5, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Please note that Ms. Konchakowski is unavailable on those dates and has arranged alternative times. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, I encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher at any point.
If your child (K-5) needs to stay after school for any reason, please make sure to inform both the classroom teacher and the bus driver. With after-school volleyball games and other activities, some students are unsure of their plans, which can lead to last-minute confusion. If we don’t receive a note or message from you, we will ensure your child is placed on the bus.
On Thursday, we conducted our first Hold and Secure and Lockdown drill of the year. As part of our safety protocols, schools are required to practice six fire drills and two lockdown drills annually. The students did an excellent job following instructions and asked insightful questions.
Finally, this is the last week to register for the after-school program. Students must be pre-registered to attend; drop-ins are not allowed. It’s a great opportunity for some after-school fun for our younger students.
Remember to send in your picture order forms by Monday, October 21—the final day to submit them!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Bailey Benson

Learning in Action
Provinces and Capitals
The Grade 4/5 students have been using Bloklet to practice their knowledge of Canada’s provinces and capitals. With their notes in hand, they carefully reviewed the information to decide the answers to each question, using what they've learned to guide their choices. This interactive tool has made learning geography fun and engaging, helping students memorize each province and its capital through interactive challenges and activities. Their enthusiasm for mastering this essential Canadian knowledge is clear as they work together and test their skills.
Color Wheel
Designing a Zoo
The Grade 6/7 students have been working on a project to design their own zoos, using this creative challenge to learn about different organisms and how they coexist in various ecosystems. Through researching the needs and behaviors of different animals, they are exploring how to create balanced habitats that support the well-being of each species.
Seven Sacred Teachings
The JK/K/1 students are learning about the Seven Sacred Teachings, focusing on one each month. In October, they read the book Sally Sabe and had a thoughtful discussion about the value of honesty. Afterwards, they created a Sabe-inspired craft to reinforce the lesson.
