A Note from Your Principals
As we prepare to celebrate Staff Appreciation Week next week, it is important to take a moment to recognize and express gratitude for the hardworking and dedicated individuals that make Eli Terry wonderful.
Every day, our staff goes above and beyond to build relationships with our students, find creative ways to keep students engaged and motivated, ensure our students feel safe and loved, and most importantly...help our students become readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, artists, engineers, musicians, athletes, etc.
ET educators play a vital role in shaping the minds and futures of our children. They inspire, challenge, and empower our students to reach their full potential. They also serve as mentors, role models, and sources of encouragement, providing all 488 ET students with the guidance and support they need to succeed.
So, whether you are a student, parent, or member of the community, take a moment next week to thank the educators in your life. Send them a note of appreciation, give them a small gift, or simply express your gratitude for all that they do.
In combination with our PTO, let's show our Eli Terry staff how much we value and appreciate their hard work and dedication. Thank them for making a positive difference in the lives of your children.
Happy Staff Appreciation Week!

Physical Education Updates & Reminders
- Thursday, the Grade 4 Human Growth and Development Presentation was very successful. Many important questions were asked, and students did a great job.
- Next Wednesday, May 7th, Eli Terry will join thousands of other communities celebrating National Walk, Bike, & Roll to School Day. Let's help promote Safe Routes To School (SRTS), a program that helps make walking, biking, and rolling to school safer and encourages a healthy and active lifestyle.
- Thursday, May 22nd, and Friday, May 23rd are Grade 4 Bicycle Safety Education days in PE. For more information about dates and volunteering, please view the See Saw Message that was sent to Grade 4 families.
- Field Day is coming! Friday, June 6th, with a rain date of Thursday, June 12th. Be on the lookout for more information about Field Day and volunteer sign-ups to work at stations.
Spring Family Survey
Each year parents are asked to complete a survey to measure how families view school and district practices related to school climate. Responses to the survey will help teachers and administrators measure individual and school-wide goals for maintaining and enhancing a positive school climate. To help set a course for the future of South Windsor, we want to know what you think!
The survey was shared last week by Mrs. Peterson's office and we've included her original communication below. We understand that you are very busy, but would appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to complete the short survey. The survey closes on May 5th!
Thank you in advance for sharing your feedback and insight!
