Weekly Updates for Flanagan High School
Principal Message | January 2025
Falcon Pride, Falcon Nation, One Flanagan Family
Happy New Year Flanagan Falcons. I hope you and yours had an amazing and restful Winter Break and New Year celebrations. I wish you and yours health, happiness, prosperity, and years of continued growth and success. I am very happy with how the closing of our 2024 academic year. Our community embraced the leadership change with open arms, and I am very proud to have the opportunity to lead at Flanagan High. I am excited to witness the amazing accomplishments of our scholars into 2025 and beyond. Thank you for always being there for your child(ren).
I encourage our community to come together and embrace our motto, "Falcon Pride, Falcon Nation, One Flanagan Family"!! Please share the amazing culture, accolades, and events with your fellow neighbors and Pembroke Pines community as often as you can. We feel embracing one great family at a time will enhance our culture and foster future academic and extracurricular success for years to come. Please invite new and interested families and friends to attend our Spotlight On Flanagan held on campus February 5th starting at 6:30 pm in our theater. The whole Pembroke Pines and Broward County communities are welcome regardless of where students reside or plan to attend. We are a School Choice School and are excited to open the door to amazing families to showcase our amazing programs.
Some important upcoming events on our calendar include PM2 ELA / Reading assessment Wednesday, January 15th. Remediation and Enrichment for future state exams in ELA / Reading, Algebra EOC, Geometry EOC, Biology EOC, US History EOC, Cambridge Courses, and Advanced Placement Courses. We wish our scholars the best as they prepare for these high stakes state exams.
Finally, as we welcome the Second Semester of our school year I highly encourage parents to sit with your scholar and review his / her Focus Semester 1 grades. 9th grade students received their first grade point average of their academic high school career, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students continue to build on their academic resume. Remember, EOC courses are yearlong courses. A grade point average will not be calculated for these courses until after students take their state exam at the end of the school year. If you have any questions or would like to set up a face-to-face conference with teachers, please call Flanagan at 754-323-0650 and request for School Counseling. You can also visit our school website and email school counselors, administration, and teachers from the "contact us" tab.
Once again, I wish you and yours much success. Let's embrace the second half of our school year and share in our Charles W Flanagan High School successes.
