A Message from Ms. Valentine, Principal

As we approach this special time of year, I want to take a moment to express heartfelt gratitude to our incredible scholars, dedicated staff, and supportive families. Your hard work, commitment, and the vibrant spirit you bring to our community make Springbrook truly exceptional. Wishing you and your loved ones a Thanksgiving filled with warmth, joy, and cherished moments! 🧡
Don’t forget to check out the Springbrook Weekly Digest for updates on upcoming events, special recognitions, and community celebrations.
Early Release Days
Monday, November 25th and Tuesday, November 26th are early release days for students. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM both days.

However, on Monday, November 25th Springbrook High School will hold parent-teacher conferences to discuss select underperforming students. Teachers and counselors will contact parents and caregivers by email or phone. Please be sure to monitor your emails or calls for contact from the school; this is a great opportunity to connect with teachers and stay updated on your student's progress.
- Conferences will take place on Monday, November 25th from 12:15 - 5:45 PM with a dinner break from 3:00 - 3:45 PM.
- Conferences are 10 minute sessions
- Conferences may take place using Zoom, Google Meet, phone, or in-person
Check out all updates in this issue of the SWD and have a wonderful week!

Please join us in supporting these players and Camron by attending and inviting others to attend this great event. Book of the Week (BOTW)
Our SBHS Book of the Week program is sponsored by the Media Center! This week we spotlight the following intriguing and thought-provoking read for students and staff to enjoy! Happy reading, Springbrook!
When Nathan goes to visit his grandma, Nali, at her mobile summer home on the Navajo reservation, he knows he’s in for a pretty uneventful summer. Still, he loves spending time with Nali, and with his uncle Jet—though it’s clear when Jet arrives that he brings his problems with him.
Class of 2025
Dorine Clermont - NIH HISTEP Program
Summer of 2024, Senior Dorine Clermont participated in the NIH HISTEP program. And YOU CAN TOO! This competitive program is for rising 12th graders. HISTEP students learn about research and healthcare careers through lectures, research group visits, networking events, small group discussions, and group projects. HiSTEP students also receive guidance on the college application process, develop career readiness and leadership skills, and participate in a resilience and well-being program. This paid program will be at the NIH headquarters in Bethesda from July 7 to August 7, 2025. The application will close on January 8, 2025, at noon ET.
